This could be several things. This means it has tried to harvest the ice 3 consecutive times before the machine has locked out.
1. Likely Cause, Ice bridge thickness too small, not enough ice to open curtain. PROBABLE SOLUTION, Check and adjust if needed.
2. LIKELY CAUSE, ice bridge too large, ice frozen to evaporator frame. PROBABLE SOLUTION, Check and adjust if needed.
3. LIKELY CAUSE, Purge valve does not open, water melts ice bridge, not enough ice to open curtain. PROBABLE SOLUTION, Check purge valve during harvest.
4. LIKELY CAUSE, incomplete ice formation. PROBABLE SOLUTION, Check water distributor for partially plugged holes. The machine needs to be cleaned and sanitized every 6 months.
5. LIKELY CAUSE, Curtain out of position. PROBABLE SOLUTION, check curtain for swing restriction.
6. LIKELY CAUSE, Curtain switch dose not open when curtain does. PROBABLE SOLUTION, Check switch with ohmmeter if bad replace.
7. LIKELY CAUSE. Machine in very cold ambient. PROBABLE SOLUTION. Move machine to a warmer location.
8. LIKELY CAUSE. Hot gas valve does not open during harvest. PROBABLE SOLUTION. Check hot gas valve with a volt meter during harvest mode to see if you are getting correct voltage to it. If not then replace control board . IF yes and valve is not opening then replace valve.
9. LIKELY CAUSE. Harvest assist probe out of position - ejector pin not retracted. PROBABLE SOLUTION. Check harvest assist mechanism - spring should retract pin.
10. LIKELY CAUSE. Damaged evaporator. PROBABLE SOLUTION. Check evaporator surface. Make sure the plates where they intercept each other is not loose this will cause ice to hang up. check to make sure the nickel is not peeling off, if so then the plate will need to be replaced.
11. LIKELY CAUSE. Fan motor stays on during harvest. PROBABLE SOLUTION. Check controller using test mode. If this dose not help you then give me the model number so i know what machine you have.

SOURCE: Scotsman ice machine problems.

Well it is making ice cubes alright just too thick right? I would give it a good cleaning with nickleguard and retry. If it is still doing the same thing I would replace the ice thickness switch.

Clean the bin eyes found in the back of the ice machine where the shoot narrows. Look on the left and right sides of the unit, you will see plastic vanes that are pushed into rubber grommets. Just pull the eyes out and clean with ice machine cleaner.

Scotsman Prodigy Plus 300lb Modular Cube Ice Machine. After one bath has it goes into max harvest time and shuts down?

It is commercial icemaker, you just call for service and claim the cost against your taxes. It may need refrigerant gas. Once the ice is made and it is ready to harvest, the cycle reverses and heat is directed to the grid to drop the ice. Harvest time is set to 3 1/2 minutes, then it trips out.

Scotsman icemachine constantly freezing up no matter how small you put the setting?

Max harvest cycle just keeps it in a harvest longer. if you set the freeze setting to its lowest point and ice is still to thick then replace the freeze stat.

WHY scotsman iec machine shuts down on the refridgeration light ON CM3 CONT

Is the machine producing ice thick enough to come off the evaporator plate? the machine will try to harvest 3 times before it locks out on long harvest. Harvest cycle: The compressor and hot gas valve are both powered during the harvest cycle. The fan and pump are off at this time. The machine stays in the harvest cycle until the evaporator thermistor senses 52 DEG F. If the bin is not full, the unit goes into another freeze cycle. I would check the Thermistor

Scotsman cme256 as-1d sticks in harvest cycle

The only thing that tells the machine that a harvest cycle has completed and takes it back into a freeze mode is the ice level control. when the machine go's into a harvest the ice drops through the ice level control and brakes the beam and switches the machine back to freeze cycle. Pull the the ice level controls and replace them. if there is nothing wrong with them than it is the electronic controller. part number for ice level controllers are 11-0540-21. The part number for the control board is 12-2838-24

My scotman model sce170a1a.goes into harvest to

That has to be a faulty control wouldn't you think?
The cube size control should only be adjusted to
bring the cubes to the correct shape, the overall
size cannot be adjusted. Try to adjust the cube
size control when the ice machine is in the harvest
cycle, or in the first 10 minutes of the freeze cycle.
1. Open the door and remove the control box
cover.
2. Locate the cube size adjustment screw, and to
make fuller cubes, turn the screw clockwise about
1/4 turn. This will make the freezing cycle longer.
3. To shorten the freezing cycle and make cubes
that are not as full, turn the adjustment screw 1/4
turn counterclockwise.
4. After the next freezing cycle, the cubes should
have responded to the adjustment, if another
adjustment is required, do it early in the freeze
cycle.

Scotsman dc33pa ice maker

Make sure the curtain is not torn and there are no leaks from the resivoir. If ok check to make sure you have enough water pressure to the machine. Make sure you have enough water passing through the valve during harvest cycle. To check... turn the timer cam to harvest cycle. Water should come in quickly behind the curtain on the right side and the timer should advance three minutes to freeze portion of cycle and stop running. Water should spray and form ice for approximately 25min. Then the timer advances for 5 minutes into harvest cycle and it refills with water again.
