echo issue- maybe the person on the other end was on speakerphone? there are times youll be hearing echos. OR you have a sound app that has a setting with echo effect, (just a wild guess) as for the phone shutting down- check the battery or memory is full
Try making a phone call on regular analog phone.

If no echo contact the store that you bought the phone from and ask for replacement of deffective unit.
