I install windows vesta and i am not geting the sounds

The phillips webcam you have may not be compatible.
So far, the list of compatible phillips webcams for macintosh is:

Phillips Vesta
Phillips ToUCam
Phillips Vesta Pro
Phillips SPC900NC
Phillips SPC210NV

Other things to check:

Never install more than one set of drivers for your webcam, you need to delete all previous drivers and install the new ones.

A webcam can only send video to one window, so do not send video to more than one program

As far as checking for video:

Go to Help>Welcome Tour>Setup
>Test Your Equipment
Find your equipment and follow instructions

One more option is:
Preferences<Audio/Video and look for your equipment

You downgrade from Vista to XP right?

Installing your audio drivers on XP:- ***important
You have to install the "Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (sp33867)" first, before intalling the audio drivers Conexant CX20549-12 Audio Driver for Microsoft Windows XP (sp41836.exe).

If you reverse the procedure your audio won't work.

thats not a problem with your laptop, it sounds like a problem with your speakers, try using headphones and see if u can hear anything

this will happen coz driver non compatibility with Vista os, locate drvers for vista online, will get it

On many CD-Roms, or burners, there is a plug on the back that is for Digital Audio. It is a rectangular shaped plug. Some PC's require that a cable is attached from the back of the burner, to either the on-board audio (on the motherboard), or to the sound card that may be installed. in most of cases Device drivers are not properly installed.

well vesta is a commonly typo for Windows Vista.
And Vista is a operating system

normally when installing a new version of it disable or uninstall older version for the latter. so there is no cause for alarm.
