The battery status indicator appears in the corner of the main menu page. See pg 48 of the manual, here: http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/nuvi_1100_1200_1300_1400_OM.pdf
You may need to remove external power first!

The battery indicator will only show on the screen in the upper right-hand corner of the screen when the unit is NOT connected to an external charger. When the charger is connected, the unit is running off of external power. The unit has to be running on battery power in order to display the battery status icon.

Hi.. my acer battery shows charging upto 72%, as shown on the screen when I take the pointer over it... beyond that it won't charge

It looks like your battery has bought the farm.

Batteries have a finite life, shortened if you've use your laptop while mainly plugged into the mains.
If the batteries are not charged and discharged on a regular basis, their life becomes much shortened.

Certainly if you laptop is over 2 - 3 years old, you're looking for a new battery.

If it is shwing some life in the screen then the screen seems to be OK. Hence it should not cost much to repair the circuitry.

My streetpilot c330 won"t shut off.

IT'S CALLED A FROZEN SCREEN...

2 OPTIONS

ONE, RESET IT !!! (See resetting instructions below)

TWO, let the battery die out!

Waking up your c330...

If you left your Garmin c330 on running the battery will have 1% life left. If you turn c330 back on again, it will flash screen for 3 seconds then die, even charging it at this point will not wake it back up. TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE... plug in the power home or car into Garmin c330. There is a tab in the front Garmin gray frame of your screen. You must take like your fingernails and under the logo "GARMIN" pull the whole gray plastic frame off. Underneath the plastic frame to the right hand side. There is a "RESET" button. Make sure power is plugged in while hitting reset. Your battery should come back to life. Cheers

Battery charge is finished very soon without even using it( in about 5 hours)

The proper way of charging the battery on your phone is by waiting for your phone to indicate that it's running out of powe but not completelyr, if you frequently charge your phone even if it's not yet necessary(battery life indicator show half-way) the ability of the battery to store power will deminished hence the battery life is shorter. Last resort would be trying another battery unit to test if it's your battery of your phone that's causing the unsual battery drain.

Or you can try the following steps on conserving your phones battery life;

  • Turn off your Infrared and BlueTooth when not in use. Even when they are not in use, they do keep drawing power looking for signals.
  • Switch off the vibration alerts. Vibration causes a lot of power usage thereby making battery drain fast.
  • Re-adjust your screen brightness to around 50%. Screen power is another silent killer.
  • Usually, presetted Backlight durations are of pretty high order, this can be readjusted to get more from your battery. Try reducing the Backlight duration.
  • Often we don’t understand that playing games requires Light, Sounds and Shakes. This in turn leads to tripling of battery drainage.
  • Lower Ringing and other message sounds. This too helps saving a lot of battery.
  • Finally, do charge your battery before it gets drained fully. This enhances battery life.

HP Pavilion laptop battery life

Maybe your battery aging, battery's life is about a year (I also use laptop)
If you often use external power supply, take out the battery, it will extend battery life, because the battery's life depends on the times of charging and discharging.
You say the screen is brighter, some laptops have a default value of setting LCD screen in computer system, you can adjust the brightness youself. Press "EN" key, and press "upward" at the same time, the screen can be brighter.
Or you can get a replacement battery,
I don't know what's the brand of your laptop, I have bought a battery online, the quality is OK.
