The clothes are still wet after the spin cycle. The washing drum turns with a lot less effort when I turn it by hand leading me to suspect that I have a broken belt.
Would you please let me know if this is the case and how to go about fixing it myself. Specifically how to remove the Washing machines cover so that i can get to the suspect part.
Thanks,
Kris
If the drum spins in the spin cycle, then the belt can't be broken. However, if the drum does not move at all in wash and spin, then the belt can be broken or just fallen off. You will have to remove the back plate and fit the belt back on the drum pulley and the motor pulley. If belt is ok check the motor brushes, they could be worn. They are located one on either side of the motor and identifiable by a single wire that connects to each one. You could also have a restriction in one of the drain hoses which is not allowing all the water to drain out.

How to put the belt back on a Maytag Neptune front loader washer. I opened the back of the washer and the belt has fallen off. I just can't figure out how to put it back on. There is no stretch to it and I can't figure out how to put it back on. Thanks for your help.
