Cub Cadet 1050 2014 model. The gas pedal locks in the down position until engaging the break.

If the gas pedal on your 2014 Cub Cadet 1050 model is locking in the down position until the brake is engaged, there may be an issue with the mower's safety interlock system. This system is designed to prevent accidental engagement of the blades when the operator is not in control. Check for any debris or obstructions around the pedal mechanism and the brake system. Additionally, inspect the safety interlock switches near the brake pedal for proper function. If the issue persists, it's recommended to consult the owner's manual for troubleshooting steps or seek assistance from a qualified Cub Cadet service professional to ensure safe and proper operation.

Why doesn't it move when gas pedal is pushed?

If your vehicle's gas pedal is pushed, but the vehicle is not moving, there could be a few potential causes, depending on the type of vehicle and transmission.
  1. Transmission issues: One possible cause could be a problem with the transmission. If your vehicle has an automatic transmission, it could be that the transmission is not engaging properly or is slipping, preventing the vehicle from moving. In a manual transmission vehicle, the clutch may be slipping or not engaging properly.
  2. Drive train problems: Another potential cause could be a problem with the drive train, such as a broken or disconnected axle, driveshaft, or differential.
  3. Brake issues: If the brakes are engaged or stuck, the vehicle may not move even if the gas pedal is pressed. Make sure the emergency brake is released, and that the brake pedal is not stuck.
  4. Engine issues: If the engine is not running properly or has a mechanical problem, it may not have enough power to move the vehicle. Check the engine for any warning lights or unusual sounds.
It's important to address any issues with your vehicle promptly and to seek the help of a qualified mechanic to diagnose and repair the problem. A mechanic will be able to perform a thorough inspection and identify the root cause of the issue.

On, this may sound crazy but my Chevy blazer doesn't want to engage the transmission sometimes unless you pump the gas pedal while in gear. Then works good

No that doesn't sound crazy at all . Given the electronics on vehicles today . What year is your blazer ? For the transmission to shift or engage gears the PCM/TCM which ever controls the trans in your blazer ,inputs from various sensors are needed. One being the TPS - throttle position sensor . Stepping on the gas pedal changes voltage signals to the PCM - engine computer . If you hooked up a volt meter on the signal wire to the PCM from the TPS at idle you would see around one volt an gas pedal on the floor around 4 1/2 - 5 volts . Check the connectors at the transmission an the PCM for being tight . Having a scan tool that reads sensor data hooked up to look at sensor parameters could be a big help .

Pontiac firebird 1994 v6 wont turn over unless gas pedal is pressed i just changed fuel filter. what could this be?

When you say won't turn over, do you mean that in order for the starter to engage you must press the gas pedal? Or do you mean that the vehicle will only fire and run once the gas pedal is pressed?

After I know that I can better answer your question

My Toro LX500 is demon possessed. I'm certain of it. After 2 repair shops and $500, it still doesn't work. Everything was fine until all of a sudden, the gas pedal goes loose and the engine...

Gary, Sorry for your woes. I'm not a "Tractor" guy and I'm sure there are much better qualified techs on here for your question. However, I'll tell you what I know. By "Gas Pedal", I assume you mean the clutch. When you depress that pedal all the way, it engages some kind of switch (along with the brake), that allows your starter to engage. When you let that pedal out, it engages some kind of belt which allows the tractor to move. So I would check all that pedal linkage/switch/and belts first off. It sounds like you have a mechanical problem in there somewhere. Without looking at it personally, that's all I've got. Appreciate the personal 'reach out' though; You're my very first one of these. Best of luck to you and sorry I can't be of more help.

Why does the oil engine light come on when i engage the clutch ?

Hi!

When a car is in gear with the Gas pedal pushed down, the engine RPM is high so the oil pressure is high too that means the Sending unit is detecting high pressure. But when you engage the clutch that means the gas pedal is released so the RPM drops and the pressure drops down too. So all i can say is that you might have a bad oil pump that needs always high RPM to keep the oil pressure normal.

Good luck
