Is it pc or cd player?

It's normal for only 2 speakers to play if you are playing music or if the movie you are watching is not in Dolby Digital 5.1 format..

Sounds like either a dirty or bad optical pickup in the unit--if dirty it can be cleaned but if bad may cost too much to repair.

This is a common problem on this model LG RH2Txxx DVD Recorder unit.
Source and install a new DVD player/burner unit - cost approx $120.

Easy to self instal with basic repair knowledge (+ philips screwdriver).
Remove top cover screws and cover,
Unclip front plastic front cover, roll out of way,
Remove 4 mount screws of DVD player/burner unit,
Unplug ribbon cable and DC power connection to DVD unit.
Install new unit by reverse of above procedure.

Switch on the unit, open the tray but don't put any disk on it. press 0 on the remote, regional code info appears on the tv screen, it gives you the current code. Scroll down to change regional code- selct 0 for all regions. hit pause to exit. switch off the unit and wait for a moment. then test.

I GUESS you need to see a computer repair tech.

The LG software supplied with this item is rather suspect in my experience. To play dvd's, try downloading Videolan VLC free from the internet. It passes my system's security and plays dvd's really well.
