Re: Changed boot but still leaks
Are you sure it is leaking from the boot seal? The water could be leaking from the top or front of the washer and running down along the door. Pull the top off and watch the machine while it fills. Use a torch for better viewing.

this is a very common problem with the neptune washers. use a javex and hot water solution and scrub the rubber boot. you should also do an acid wash. (hot wash with bleach, and no clothes) if there is mold on the boot it is inside the washer as well.
There is a way to prevent this. when the washer is not in use, hang a small towl on the washer door, and do not close the door. this will allow for air movement in the washer
TO ELLIESHIRK, I SEE YOU POSTED YOUR PROBLEM ON MAR. 19, 2009. I HAVE A MATAG NEPTUNE FRONT LOADER WASH MACHINE MODEL #MAH55FLBWW. I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY MACHINE LEAKING WATER OUT THE FRONT DOOR. MY WASH MACHINE SEAL LOOKS FINE. IF YOU HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION TO YOUR WASH MACHINE LEAK PROBLEM, PLEASE LET ME KNOW, OK. YOU MAY EMAIL ME AT: [email protected] , MY WASH MACINE IS NOT VERY OLD EITHER 4-5 YEARS IM GUESSING, IT WAS LEFT WITH THE HOUSE I PURCHASED. THANK-YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND TIME. CONNIE
How old is the washer? Did you try straight bleach on a towel and placed over the "mold" spot for about 5 minutes, be sure to wear gloves. Then scrub with a small brush being careful not to splatter bleach on yourself and rinse well. May need to replace the seal. I always leave the door cracked open after every use to "dry" out the inside and the boot. I also leave the drawer pulled out when not in use for that area to dry out as well. I have never had mold on the door seal of my Neptune washers, only the water holes above the dispenser drawer.
Possible the leak comes from under the tub. Remove the wall plug & take off the rear panel. Check to see if the hose from the under the tub is secure, it could be the grip clip below the hose has come off. This is where it connects to the pump section. You need a grip plier or something to get it back on securely. If this is not the case take a good look to see where the leak comes from.
