SOURCE: Craftsman 42 inch riding lawn mower is not cutting evenly

The first thing to check is your blades. If one is bent, it will never cut even. It happens a lot hitting roots, antbeds, etc. Mulching blades will bend easier than a straight blade. It's best to take them off and lay one on top of the other to see if they're bent.

My Craftsman lawn tractor will run for a while and then stop then sometimes after sitting for a while will run again. What should I check? I added fuel additive to gas just incase the fuel was bad.

Drain the fuel tank. Dispose of the gasoline responsibly.
Replace the fuel line between the tank and the carburetor.
Put fresh gas in the tank. See how long it runs.

While you're at it, change the oil and remove any debris from
the cooling fins on the engine. It may be overheating.

If it still doesn't run, you probably failed to replace the fuel line.
Trust me, this is part of good maintenance for these machines.

I have a craftmans riding mower I replaced the solenoid and the carb but when the mower has been shut off for a couple of days the fuel drains out of it what could be wrong

Depending how old it is...the rubber hoses on most lawn equipment is prone to going cracking and leaking. I'd start with checking fuel lines coming from the fuel tank to the engine first, see if they show any signs of wear or leakage.

How to drain the old gas from my 20.0 HP, 42 in. lawn tractor. Thank you, Nancy

Remove the fuel line from the engine and drain the old fuel into a container. Follow the fuel line from the fuel tank to the engine. Anywhere along that line where you can disconnect it do so. The fuel filter is a good place to disconnect it and then you can replace the fuel filter when you connect it back up.

How do you properly drain the fuel tank on craftsman 19.5 hp lawn tractor

The proper way is to remove the tank from the unit. You can also use a vacuum type device to remove all the fuel and water although it is very difficult to remove everything without removing the tank. Make sure you do not use a motorized vacuum device unless it is ul rated for use around gasoline!!!!
