My mp3 player will not stay on

I have a Creative Muvo 356mb and every time I power up it will only play for a few seconds and then it cuts off. I have tried new battery and nothing works.

My MuVo was having problems until I installed the latest firmware. The last firmware release was in August 2006. If you haven't updated the player's firmware since then, try downloading it and installing Creative MuVo V200 Firmware 1.13.03.

If you can't get your computer to even recognize the player anymore, you could try reinstalling the Creative Mass Storage Driver 1.07.00.250.

Welcome to Fixya!

The power button is the PLAY/PAUSE button as well. Just hold it down for a few seconds until it lights up. Make sure that there is a working battery installed for it to work.

Please let me know if you have anymore question.

u can try to insert your drive to other usb port of your computer or you can also try to use other computer to see if it works with it. if this doesnt solve your problem maybe your drive is defective and if its brand new it has a factory defect.

Hopefully this will help. I have similar problem with my old Muvo Slim. Have tried several times to turned it on, but wouldn't work.
Until I donwloaded the firmware from creative.com, and run it with the Muvo attached to USB, and then bumm... everything goes normal.

Creative Muvo TxFm 256Mb mp3 player

Try holding down the button for several seconds? If you just hit it for a second, it says "Please wait", but then the "please wait" message will go away, and the song will be paused. After the song is paused for a long time, it will eventually think you forgot about it and turn off to save battery life. Just keep holding the button until it actually turns off. I think it takes 3 seconds of holding the button down.
