Transmission overdrive light started flashing and tranny shifted hard When I turned truck off NAND turned back on everything was normal

I have the same problem in my 1994 Ford f350. I replaced the ABS sensor, but it is still shifting hard and the overdrive light still flashes until I shut the truck off. Any ideas?

2001 F350 7.3 surperduty.Overdrive light is flashing on shifter handle. Trans. cut out while driving at 40 mph.

When was the last time you had the transmission filter and fluid changed? Sounds like the filter is clogged.

Got a 1995 F350 dually and the overdrive light flash sometime. When it does it make the transmission shift hard. If you stop and cut truck off the light go off. So what is the problem?

sounds as though the wiring harness to the trans may need to be inspected to be sure it is in good order and the connections are seated firmly.
I am assuming the transmission is not the issue.
I am thinking maybe a branch or something snagged a wire harness and jiggled it loose maybe?

1994 Ford Taurus 3.8l suddenly lost overdrive and does not shift down into lower gears correctly. Does this necessarily mean that the transmission is shot or are there other possibly less costly issues...

You can try changing the transmission fluid and filter, sometimes dirty filter/broken down and dirty fluid can cause shifting problems. (I assume you checked to see if it had enough transmission fluid?)

My 1994 F350 yesterday started to acted up, the overdrive off light keeps flashing, and the RPM gauge stop working, I can race the engine up by pushing the gas peddle and the RPM gauge starts to work and...

You may want to check the cpu and see if he upgraded it when he did the trans,bully dog makes a tuneable one thats really good.

A blinking OD light means there is a problem with the electronically controlled transmission, you need the TCM module scanned for fault codes.

Transmission slipping

do u have any transmission trouble codes? u should if the OD light is flashing, the light flashes to alert u that a electronic malfunction is occurring in the trans controls, u may just have a bad trans connector or a shift solenoid starting fail due to a shorted field closing coil.

1994 F350 transmission intermittent problem

I had the same problem in my 96 f-350. The transmission has slipped recording a slip code in the transmission. You can pull the codes and get it. I shifts into a safe mode that increases the pressure inside your transmission as part od a fail safe. Plain and simple, you have to have the tranny rebuilt.

I had a similar problem which turned out to be caused by a leaking vacuum line.

The blinking light is a warning from the computer that there is a transmission problem. There are so many issues that can cause the light to blink so you need to go to the dealership or a very good mechanic you trust and has the latest diagnostic equipment. Don't wait for too long or you may find yourself finding a tow truck. Good luck!

Hi we dont have the 350 in australia however the f250 sometimes had this fault and what i have found is when you open the bonnet on the inner guard there is a solenoid and for some reason if the heavy bolted wires are not seated correctly on the solenoid it causes the overdrive light to flash it has fixed two f250s for me i hope you have the same luck
