Mine done this just a few weeks ago and we replaced the thermostat it still kept doing it ened up being a wire to the heat sensor came lose.

If the drum won't rotate, you may have a broken belt. I had a Kenmore and as I recall, you have to pull up the top section to see inside. Good luck.

Usually problem like this with electrical solenoids located on the top of gas valve inside the dryer. They need to be replace.
