SOURCE: Gaggia classic, still drips coffee

Where is the drip for the coffee happening,is it around the portafilter, or the tube hanging in the drain tray on the left, or from the shower in the grouphead.
1- Around portafilter..since the machine is only 2 wks old the it is possible that coffee grounds are on the gasket in the head, get a hard toothbrush or buy a groupbrush and clean group gasket also check for damage.
2- Tube in drain tray...If it is a continuous drip whenever the machine is on then the nucleus in the solenoid is either dirty or damaged, try backwashing the machine. If it happens only when you make a coffee then that is the discharge on the solenoid working. Run a backwash on the group and that will cleann out the discharge.
3- If it is coming from the shower in the group then the solenoid needs to be replaced.

As for the steam wand leak it sounds as though the valve is not closing. That will have to be replaced because it cannot be rebuilt.5547512.jpg

Which setting gives a stronger brew, setting 1 or setting 10 on the grinder.? There is a setting on the side door, what does this control?

Hi On this machine you want the lever under the grinder on 4 and the lever in the middle of the door towards the + (plus) but not all the way. Back 1 mark is the strongest setting you should use. It puts more coffee in the brew unit, there for stronger. If push all the way you will get an over charge on some shots and you could also break the brew drive. The grinder lever can be moved to 3 but only when the grinder is running. This makes the grind finer (smaller #'s). Get it too fine and you will plug up the brew unit.

Gaggia baby espresso machine-Steam button is stuck

The only thing that comes to mind is that the machine is in steam/hot water mode. Unless you replace the switch and turn off the steam light so that it sends the water to the correct location. Also you might want to remove the shower screen and make sure it is clean.

How do you know how many shots you have used with the gaggia syncrony compact digital?

HI Go into the menu. Scroll to total brewed and push the enter button. Push escape twice to go back to ready machine. There is a lot of neat things in the menu. Check it out. Water hardness should be set to 4.

My Gaggia Carrezza is pulling the shot way to quick.

Of all of the gaggia machines I have worked on I have mostly seen clogged filter screens in the top of the brewing head. I am not familiar with your particular machine but look in the top above where the coffee goes and see if you see a shower screen up there. If so, the screen maybe clogged with coffee residue and stopping the proper flow of water through the coffee. Clean out any and all water ports and screens and around the rubber seal gasket where the coffee holding cup seat at the top of the chamber. Onthe commercial gaggias I worked on I used to take out the screen and hold it over the open flame of a stove burner and burn it clean rinse it with water to cool it. scrub it well and then put it back in the unit. Run a cycle with water only to check the flow and finish cleaning it out, let it get back up to temperature and then brew a cup and see how it does. Good Luck
