SUMVISION CYCLONE MICRO DOES NOT SHOW ALL MOVIE FILES ON EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE

Some video formats may be incompatible with the player.
Your laptop probably has more codecs, so more compatibility.
Try a program like Video Inspector to see formats of different files.

How to transfer 57 gigs from a mac to firelite xp.

The hard drive maybe formatted in Windows NTFS format and the MAC cannot see this formatted hard drive.
If you only wanr to use this hard drive on a MAN then you need to format this hard drive with your MAC.
If you want to exchange files between your MAC and a PC then you need to format the hard drive on a PC in FAT32. The MAC can read and write to a FAT32 formatted hard disk.

My macbook recognizes hard drive fine but no other devices will. I'm wanting to run the hard drive through either PS3 or a Cyclone HDMI adapter so i can watch my movies on my tv, i've formatted the drive...

You may need to change the partition map scheme. I imagine it is using the GUID partition and should be the Master Boot Record. The best way to do this is to select the drive in Disk Utility, then choose the Partition tab. Change the Current partition to one, click on the options button, choose Master Boot Record (MBR) then click OK. Then on the format drop-down menu change the format to Free Space, then click Apply and OK. Then the drive is ready to format with FAT32 that your PS3, etc. can recognize. To do this click on the Erase tab, choose FAT32 in the Format drop-down menu, name the drive, click apply and OK. The drive should now work cross-platform on Macs, PCs, and media devices. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I cannot see it on my mac? how do i format it to mac? [email protected]

Check the manual for the HD to see what type of format it has. Some mac do not see NTFS format drives. Check you mac manul to see if you can format or if you need to format it on a win pc to FAT32 (Double check this). If it is to be used between win and mac machines leave it with this format. If it is only for the Mac, you can then reformat it from the mac for best performance.

good luck

My Freeagent external hard drive doesn't show up on My Computer

Your Mac would have formatted the Seagate drive as HFS+ (journaled) format. If you have access to a Mac, copy your data off the Seagate to any Mac, then use your PC to reformat the Seagate drive in FAT32 format. Macs recognize FAT32 format, and can store data in it, but can't create the format. The Mac holding your data can store it on the Seagate in the FAT32 format, and you can then copy the files to your PC. Hope this helps.
