Question about KDS Valiant 6480iPTD Notebook

KDS Valiant No Video at desktop (WinXP Pro)

I have a kds valiant 6480itpd (Windows XP Pro) and it boots fine into safe mode but when it goes to normal mode there is no video once it goes to the desktop. What could be the problem?

    tried it but that didnt work. Still no picture in windows. You can here the windows boot up but just no video

    Its a clean load of windows xp Pro. so there is no restore point. I have reloaded it 3 times to see if there was a loading problem. BUt i get the same results every time. You can hear the windows sound load to the desktop but just no video.

Solution found
download kds valiant 6000 series winzip
get the bios update,send to floppy and boot from floppy,to update the bios.
working fix!!!!!!

There might be a problem with the VGA driver. while booting, repeatedly press F8 until you get the boot options (black screen with white text) with your arrow keys, you select "boot in VGA mode"
then you can easily reinstall the video driver.

    well it's definitely a config problem, otherwise the safe mode wouldn't give you an image either.

    i think it's best to go into safe mode again and return to a restore point from before you had this issue.

    in that case i suspect that the windows display config is set to a resolution or a refresh rate that your display does not support.

    on the monitor tab of the advanced display settings, did you check the box that says "hide modes that this monitor cannot display"?

Screen Can't Maximize

KDS Valiant Laptop - Dim display.

Right click on the desktop, select view, then select show desktop icon.

it is not advisable to replace cmos bettery on your own if you are not aware of opening notebook
because each and every notebook wil lcome with its own tricky fittings
so if you dont know how to open your notebook
just go to ant technician and let them do it for you

KDS Valiant no image on on screen

first of all try to start your laptop in safemode
1 start laptop
2 continously press F8 key
3 when you see menyu select "start windows in safe mode"

if your computer starts with same mode and you see the desktop
then you just have to restore your xp with earlier system restore check point
and if you dont see desktop in safe mode also then you must have to install win xp again

steps for restore windows xp
1 start
2 programs
3 accassories
4 system tools
5 system restore
6 chose restore system to earlier time
then select any earlier date in calender at which computer is working properly
and click restore
it restores your xp and restart your pc and your problem will be solved

if still having problem then you must reinstall windows xp

6480iPTD notebook- boot problem

Video drivers not loaded for that laptop, in safe mode reload the video drivers.
