Philips shm1900 headset on Lenovo thinkpad t430 with windows 7

It sounds like you are still using the mic on the laptop. Because you are far away from it, it sounds like echo.
Make sure the phillips headset is selected in the Windows mixer.
Make sure you are plugged into the mic jack on the laptop.
Make sure the mic is not muted. This is a default setting.

Hello. When I'm not using my headset, I can hear people talking but when I use my turtle beach, I cang hear any voices at all. Not even the codcaster on bottom ops 2

have Music down to ONE

I think the only one that should be at MAX is the FX sounds

CODCaster levels are both down to ONE

Voice is down to FIVE (roughly half-way point I mean). Voice is important because your enemy characters talk A LOT. I found this to give away positions more than them walking or running actually.

Master Volume should be down to about 70% (this makes the FX sound really pop more).

So far, I found this mix ok but I know it's not optimal. try this or please make the question a little more specific

Have the Microsoft Lifechat Lx 3000 headset, and I use Avaya IP Agent via VPN to work, and Windows 7 OS. I had a Logitech headset before and had same issue, so I don't think it's the headset. While trying...

I had the same type of problems using Avaya (road warrior set up - voip) through a vpn. I work at home on remote set up. I have tried changing headsets, using the telecommuter option in Avaya and going through my regular phone line and still had the same problem.

The company that I work for, suggested changing the order in which I log in to see if this solved the problem. I use to log into the computer first, and then double click on the vpn and enter my password and user name to start my work. They changed it to logging into the VPN at start up first and then continue to access my pc with the log in and password required for that purpose.

The sound quality is better using this method but it didn't stop the various sound issues that you spoke of in your question posted on fixya. It did reduce the number of problems experienced.

what I found that solved the issue for me was changing from the wired heatset on road warrior set up in Avaya to using my bluetooth headset from my cell phone instead.

My computer was not bluetooth enabled, so I went to Best Buy and bought an adapter by I/O Gear that works by plugging it in to your usb port on your pc. The adapter cost me less than $20.00. You install the software on your pc first, then put the adapter in your usb port and turn your bluetooth headset in to pairing mode. The computer picked up the signal quickly with my Plantronics Voyager Pro bluetooth headset. The sound quality is great. I am wireles and hands free for 300 to 550 feet and I have 9 hours of talk time after a single charge. This is a new set up for me. I have used it for about three weeks now and have not experienced any problems with hearing so far.

Give it a try.

I am using my plantronic explorer 240 with my sony ecrisson vivaz mobile phone The sound is clear and people can hear me clearly too. However, my headset creates beep sound regularly when i am talking on...

If you are saying that it is the battery telling you that it is half when you start to hear the beeping, that may very well be the case. If it is the battery, you may need to keep it fully charged. The only other thing I know is that It will beep if you get too far away from the cell phone. Usually people put the cell phone on the same side as the headset. That way you are never out of range.

Recently headset has had an intermittent high pitched chirping sound while talking which occurs about every 15-20 seconds. What might be the cause

It may be feed back from the surround sound or speakers in your home, car etc. Try sitting away from them. If that does not work, delete from your cell phone and re-pair back to your phone. Hopefully that will help.

Bad microphone reverb

Ok, i can understand that, I play Eve-Online myself.

If you are using onboard sound, depending on the manufacturer of the bits and pieces that make up the sound portion of the motherboard, will greatly effect the sound quality you get. Also, making sure the microphone is not too close or too far is a big key to it also.

I have found that running whatever chat program that I use at the time to chat with my alliance friends online with, opening an advanced window with sound controlling properties, like you would on the older stereo systems, you have to sometimes tweak the bars a little on each setting to get the right quality.

Also, by chance, if you are spending less than 25$ US standard dollars on a microphone headset unit, you are just getting what you pay for. Sasd to say, but they dont put a whole lot of effort into making good mic's for cheap. Use Playtronics, for one, but expect to spend roughly between 50 to 75 dolalrs on the headset to get a decent quality. For my gaming purposes, i spent 124.99 on mine, but thats because i occasionally use them for other software.

Can i use lifechat zx-6000 to play and listen to music played by GOM player?

Yea, you can, you need to co to control panel and under sounds set the 360 head set control which will be your microsoft wireless control to default....but the sound is crapy..it seems that the manufacturers never designed this device for that kinda sound, only those who are talking to you with another mic...so i suggest sticking with your speakers or a good set of ear phones
