Remote stopped working

My DS13204 remote stopped working. I switched the batteries and still noting. I can't switch the input mode.

How can I tell if the problem is from the remote transmitter or TV receiver?

How do I know if a universal remote is compatible with my TV?

Thank you

    Thank you for your answer.

Do I need a code? If so, where do I find it?

  • Barbara Nov 27, 2007

Thank you everyone for your help. This story has a happy ending.

I finally had a chance to get out and get a universal remote. The store promised I could return it, if I can't get it working.

The instructions listed a choice of codes for Sanyo. The TV worked with the first code I tried. Hurrah!

The instructions were surprisingly and refreshingly clear and easy to follow. Thank you again.

I wouldn't recommend purchasing a universal remote and I would actually try to find the original remote control by searching on google with your model number or you can try a site like http://www.remotecontrolscenter.com and search through their catalog for the original remote that came in the box with your Sanyo TV. I hope this helps!

A universal remote will work with almost any TV. I woud just buy one from Walmart. They should be under 10 bucks. If it doesn't work return it for a refund.

Mike

If your TV is less than 10 or 12 years old, it is quite a good bet it will work with a universal remote.

Did you program the new key fob ?

Remote Transmitter Programming NOTE: All remote transmitters are programmable and must be set at the same time.
  1. Turn the key from OFF to RUN four times within three seconds, ending in RUN. The locks will then lock and unlock, confirming program mode has been entered.
  1. Press any button on each remote transmitter to be programmed. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm that each remote transmitter has been programmed.
  1. If additonal remote transmitters are to be programmed, repeat Step 3 within 7.5 seconds or steps 2 and 3 if more than 7.5 seconds have elapsed.
  1. To exit program mode, turn the ignition to START or wait 7.5 seconds.
  1. NOTE: Failure to wait at least 20 seconds will cause programming failures. Wait at least 20 seconds after turning the key to OFF or after the last remote transmitter has been programmed to activate a remote transmitter for testing or verification

How do i get it to video mode if i do not have a remote

Hello
Without a remote control, there is no way to select its input. You just buy one universal remote control, which suits your TV. OK.

The remote just magically stopped working, even after new battery

Hi,
Have you tried pressing the 'input' button again this time to switch from video to tv? This happens in quite a few cases where 1 remote is used for many products. Please try and let me know.

Can't switch from aux to video.

The universal remote will not work because there has to be an input button on it.

Switch t.v. input to play games

Your set is probably old enough to have a code set on most "universal" remotes.
I don't know in which country you reside but remotes for under $10 US are available from nearly any major store such as Walmart or Target and I suspect at equivalent stores elsewhere.
