Sounds like the boot up routine is not even starting. Can you hear any sound of the hard drive running (not the fan)? It maybe that your BIOS has got corrupted and that's a major hassle.
You can
1) Format a USB memory key with the FAT mode.
2) Download the latest version of the BIOS from Acer support website:
but I would go first to the Acer website to support and ask for help.
http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/
Enter your country and it goes to Support pages

SOURCE: ello. I wanted to know if

The AHCI can be enabled from using the correct driver but you should have enabled it PRIOR to the OS install

Acer did not always do this but often relied on compatibility mode

The speed increase is often not that much.

The BIOS on that board can be updated but you may find that AHCI still does not work as you expect.

SOURCE: AHCI Port 3 device error

restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer

you could select the option start at last known configuration that worked this will tell you if and what file has been corrupted or missing then you will know if its a hardware issue

This could be a connection problem such as a bad cable

for internal hard drives

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions IDE,SATA

the leads from your MOTHERBOARD TO THE HARD DRIVE make sure they have a

secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty if its a flat 40pin ide

this will be the first to fail

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions

or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs power and data to travel through every working device and continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

hope this helps

No signal on Moniter

No signal errors on monitors are often due to your graphics card attempting to run an unsupported resolution or refresh rate (or both) for the monitor in question.

Given the situation you have described my best guess as to the cause is that your graphics card went kaput. If your graphics is integrated into the motherboard and you don't have an individual graphics card in an expansion slot, I recommend trying other graphics connectors, as integrated video usually has at least two different types of connectors. This will at least give you some information upon which you can perform further diagnostics and eventually isolate the problem with certainty.

If you have a compatible graphics card for the expansion slots on your motherboard, try installing it, connecting the monitor to it, and then powering on your PC. Additionally, if you have one available, try connecting a different monitor to the desktop, or if it has an HDMI output try connecting it to your TV.

One last thing to try is to clear CMOS by unplugging the tower from the wall outlet, removing the circular battery on the motherboard for 30 seconds, then replacing the battery, restoring your power connection, and trying to boot your machine. Sometimes you have to use a jumper on the motherboard to clear CMOS, and if so you'll need to consult the manual for your specific motherboard.

There are numerous other possible problems which could be causing these errors, but what I've listed above is hopefully the best place to start your troubleshooting.

Acer aspire 5515 blue screen

hi
yes it may be related to bios setting . Just enter your bios in the laptop (F2)
and for HD change the SATA to ATA or vice-versa. SAVE and retry boot.

(it can also be AHCI to ATA or ATA to AHCI.)

Won't see hard drive

Try just removing both cables from the back of the hard drive for about 30 seconds then plug them back in.

Check inside your bios for Large Drive Support or AHCI. If you see AHCI try changing it's setting and see if the drive is recognized. I've seen many times where just changing the AHCI makes the drive suddenly appear.

Samsung_r519 need help laptop as a black screen , looks like its trying to enter bios , showing all hardwere as past ,, ?? but the only thing that sticks out to me it says ,, fixed disk 0: im asuming...

If you used another hard disk and the message was teh same it means the issue is not with the hard disk itself but with the settings in BIOS ..for the bus that the HDD is using ..
I suggest to get back to bios setting ..and under advance setting locate the hard disk and in its settings select to run sata as ide instead of Ahci feature..You will have to disable eh ahci in order to recognize your hard disk and the computer to work ..or to ask for the installation of the operation system ..
Im sure if you look careful you will find that feature under the hdd 0 ..its in the first or second tab in Bios..
or ..reinstall the operation system ..but use a stick with 3rd party driver for ahci ...(raid driver or such ...they are available on the motherboard's drivers disk ..but the first way I explained its the easier one ..To install a raid driver during installation might require a floppy disk drive ..and some laptops are not equipped with such a drive..
Good luck ...
by the way ..if the initial HDD has a operation system on it ..(no changes was made till it stopped working ), I suggest to install it back ..and see if it works after removing the ACHI function for the HDD in BIOS ..
have a good day and don't forget to rate my answer.

Can't find updated ACPI Bios for toshiba satellite m45 s331. If found how to install? Getting blue screen Bios in this system not fully ACPI compliant.

I already explained in the other post ..The action required is either install a 3rd party raid and ahci driver ..and if you do not have the possibility ..just c\go to bios and enable the hard disk bus to work as ide..(disable ahci mode) I'm not sure how it will appear ..but you have to look under the bus mode..where the hard disk is seen ..It will appear as ahci enabled..and need to be disabled or ..will have raid mode enabled..and need to set it as native ..or ide compatible

I have toshiba satellite L505-S5990 model.i have installed windows xp by changing the settings in Bios that is sata hard disk enabled as compatable mode from AHCI.if i change to AHCI i can't install...

If you would like to make use of the SATA controller's AHCI features, you should enable this BIOS feature. But please note that enabling this feature requires you to load the SATA controller driver during the Windows XP installation routine.
If you do not intend to use the AHCI features, it's recommended that you disable this BIOS feature. This allows you to use the native Windows XP driver. You won't need to load the SATA controller driver during the Windows XP installation routine.

What's the difference between AHCI and IDE in SATA?

1.IDE is an old interface standard used for storage devices while AHCI is an application programming interface for the newer SATA interface.
2.Most SATA controllers allow you to choose between AHCI and IDE among other operation modes.
3.AHCI has advanced features like NCQ and hot plugging that is not available with IDE.
4.Switching from IDE to AHCI or vice versa after the operating system is installed can lead to problems.

Therefore, in BIOS, when you choose AHCI interface your HDD behaves like a SATA one and when you choose IDE it behaves like an IDE one.

I have a laptop a205-s6812 and i want to install xp but it wont continue it say about hdd cannot detect and i know you know what i mean? and cant you help me to solve this

I can't be sure, but probably the reason is that you have a SATA disk drive and the BIOS AHCI settings are not those that XP expects.
This is a tricky workaround: enter the BIOS and flip the AHCI settings, boot in XP and see whether the disk is now recognized. Once you install XP, you need to install the appropriate disk drivers for AHCI support. BEWARE - at that point, after the next reboot, the situation will be MIRRORED: you won't be able to see the hard disk with the new drives until you flip the AHCI back! (My guess is that the current setting is for Vista and says something like "Top AHCI performance" or the like. You need something like "Good ol' slow and steady mode, non-AHCI, thanks". Once you have successfully updated XP, go back to the faster setting.

I have done this successfully on my Dell XPS 1330.

Let me know how it goes, and have a nice day!

Downgrading from vista to xp

First, you can only legally install XP if you have a Vista Business or Vista Ultimate licence (COA label).
Enter BIOS Setup menu by pressing F2 or DEL before it boots - look for prompt on the screen.
Then look for a setting for the hard disk like:
IDE Setting: Enhanced AHCI.

You do not want AHCI - change it to 'compatible' so that AHCI is not shown. Then save and exit.
If you have AHCI set the XP will crash with 0x0000007b STOP error
