We have the overhead audiovox 9" Put cd in and just spins...then sometimes says illegal cd. Out of 10 dvds we use to play maybe only 2 will now load and play.

I got the same problem.  As you suggested, I blowed air with my mouth.  The DVD player can read the disc again!  icansurf you rock!

If it does it with all discs then the player is dying. If it is just the one disc I would say it is a bad disc. You can also see if there is dirt or grease or fingerprints on the laser pickup lens.

I have the same problem! The only way to fix this is to replace the motor that spins the DVD. if you take it apart and spin the DVD the movie will play. The motor is just wore out and has no torque to start the play process. I am still looking for a replacement motor for it and haven't found anyone that carries the motor required. Only Audiovox so far and they want 180 to send in and fix.
