F06 - Door lock fault
Issue: Washing machine door cannot be opened or closed/when the door is closed the machine the programme will not start.
Advice: If your washing machine door will not close, please check for any obstructions in the door lock.
OR,
Switch off the device. Disconnect power. Wait about 3 minutes.
Open the door, then close. Reconnect device to the network.
Start device.
Cause: Door lock fails to close / open door lock triac open / closed,
frequency signal fault
sounds like the door lock mechanism. if this cannot signal it has engaged, to the board, no other function will work (you don't want the washer going with the door open, trust me :) )
Swich off the machine, try some WD40 on the door mechanism (on machine lock, not on the door) and open & shut for a minute or two. Then try the machine, spin only just to try.
Hi The light is flashing due to the door lock error. The door lock is activated as the machine experienced an error or was stopped in middle of a cycle. Or the door was being pulled while the machine was running a cycle. Try unplugging your washer and restart the washer to check if you are still getting the same blinking light. If error is still not resolved then start the rinse/spin cycle & stop the cycle, now press and hold the cancel button for 5-10 seconds. However, if you are still not able to get the door open then you'll need to open the door manually by disassembling the washer. Please post back for any further assistance. Daniel
The flashing door lock light is indicating that the door is not closed proerly.
This can be caused by a weak or broken spring in the door handle.
Another reason for this to happen, is a faulty control board at the top of the washer, a blown track will cause this.
This in turn, is usally caused by a fault on the motor.
Hope this helps.
probably your door then, look at the door itself, at the latch is it broken? should form a complete square hole with four sides. if broken some part is probably inside lock asm. if complete, look at lock and determine if its in the lock position with door open, a arm will be up preventing the latch from going in. replace as necessary. Old duets (red lights) use standard lock asm same as GE and samsung. New duets (green lights) use whirlpool/new maytag unique asm. New locks come in two interchageable models, German (made in china) and Mexican, Mexican model is more troublesome, get german. If lights flash during a cycle or other time, its giving a code, note the F code displayed
Had a similar problem ,flashing red led means door not locked, I
removed door from machine removed front from door and found hinge pin
for lock had come adrift, religned pin and chapped back into position
.THen replaced door and door to machine .dor shut and lock worked
perfectly, hope this helps If this doesn't work you may have to replace the EMW. Should cost you around 60$
