Number are the pod to set turn

I know what you are asking now. Open the radio and look for the modulation transformer towards the back of the radio. see the variable resistor closest to it,turn it all the way to the left while talking to someone and if they loose you then turn it all the way to the right. Put the lid back on and you're done.

Why would my laptop speakers randomly start screeching like at a concert when someone turns on a microphone?

Usually means that your settings are set to broadcast (or listen to) your microphone... If the sound from your speakers is being picked up by your mic, and your speakers are outputting the sound from your mic, it will manifest itself as a lot of wailing.
either turn your speakers down, or disable the setting that makes you be able to hear whatever sound is coming from your microphone (it's a checkbox labled "listen to this device" in most modern windows sound configs)

some drivers have a echo reduction option, turning this on may also help

Can't access missed calls, lost my instruction book, need one. Also I get missed calls when I'm sitting right beside the phone. It never rang.Could I talk to someone?

If this is a Panasonic phone connected to a phone system as in an office setting, sounds like the ringer has been turned off. Get someone to call your phone and while they are calling turn the jog dial to turn the ringer back on or use the LCD intertactive keys to turn the ringer back on.

Turning on microphone on a advent 4489

Check the audio controls in advanced mode. There may be a check in the mute area for your microphone, or the micophone might not be installed at all. It is in your control panel, but may be located differently based upon whicih version of Windows you're using.

open that up click the voice taband under voice recording press the volume button, check to see if the check box has a tick in it under microphone and that the volume is turned up. try the test hardware button to test your mic and adjust the levels from within the wizard.

Buzzing from the microphone

Normal 0 If you have your speakers turned up it will cause you to get feed back or a squealing sound. Turn down the speaker level or better yet use a headset and this will no longer be a problem.
Hope this helps. Bud
