You didn't specify what wiring you needed to know. But try these two links below. The one that gives the list of engines, pick your unit, 1688 and the second page that comes up has the wiring diagram. The other link should take you to some pages about E-units which may or may not be helpful.
While there click on their Library link and root around. The pages that display are all downloadable .pdfs and super useful. I print them and have been making a repair manual folder. Or you can buy their CDs, that's up to you of course. OlsenLionel Toy Trains Service and Repair Information Library from OTTP O27...
If your working on it, you will need a wiring
diagram, to see what is in the system & where
to start your testing
There is no resetting
I would guess the wiper motor failed, but you have to test
all wires in the connector plugged to it, as you most likely
can't test the motor, even out of the car,not all the built in
features, not shown on a wiring diagram
wires run direct to alternator from battery ,test big lead for a permanant 12v supplyon the back of the alternator if you have one then the problem is either the brushes worn out or the commutator worn through.or the regulator either way its a recon unit as parts are not sold seperate anymore as not many dealer mechanics know how to repair anything and the spares shops make more profit on a unit than parts so they do not sell spares to stop people like me and you from doing our own repairs
Visit the autozone.com website and register the car information. It doesn't cost anything and you will gain access to an online repair manual for the car. The wiring diagrams should be available there and the manual is a handy resource for anyone doing their own maintenance. I hope you find it helpful. Best wishes.
