Question about Maytag Generic 30 in. Range Hood

2 Answers

Clock I was going to set my clock for normal time. Instead I got an "5 Ab", which I can't get rid of it. I've got a Maytag #MGR5752WH, which is new, only installed Sept 2007.

I fixed it. It said "Sab" not "5 ab", for Sabboth.

I was trying to reset the time for the time change and now it's stuck in "Sab". Keypad is locked out.

I found the solution to getting out of the Sabbath mode in the technical information manual on www.servicematters.com . Push and hold the clock button for 5 seconds until it beeps and starts flashing. Unplugging the appliance does NOT reset it.

Gee, it would be nice if the Maytag site had manuals instead of just installation instructions for those of us who acquire appliances with our new house, but no manuals. Oh well, 1 hour of searching and now it works again. Geoff69 gave me the clue in his comment so I could recognize the solution when I saw it. Thanks Geoff69.

Try switching it off at the wall, normally in the cupboard above the hood. This should reset it and hopefully it should be ok.

Setting clock

Hello
To set clock:
1. Press "Timer/clock button". The hour digit begins to flash.
2. Press (<< P.DOWN or >> P.UP) on the multicontrol to set Hours.
3. Press SET button. The minute digits begins to flash.
4. Press (<, P.DOWN or >> P.UP) on the multicontrol to set Minutes.
5. Press "Set" button."CLOCK OK" appears on the display. The clock stops flashing, and the clock timer starts from "0" seconds. If the clock is not set "AM 12:00" will flash instead of the clock indication. When the time has been set, TIMER/CLOCK can be used to operate the daily timer recording timer.
If you haven't the user manaul to your set with you now, send your email address to me by Fixya comment bos. I've the downloaded user manual to your set, and I'll send a copy of it to you by return mail. OK.

How do I set the clock? I've lost the

That would depend on the microwave. Most new microwaves have a 'clock' button on the front face. Normally, you can hold this down until it prompts you to enter the appropriate time.

The colon between the numbers on the clock, example 8:00 won't stop blinking even after I set the clock and hit the clock button again.

Sometimes the correct procedure for setting the clock is to press the CLOCK or TIME OF DAY button, then enter the time on the keyboard, then press the START button instead.

Otherwise, as long as you can enter a cooking time and your oven operates normally, then don't worry about it. On some models it is normal for the colon on the clock display to blink all the time.

Good luck.
