Skipping stitches
SOURCE: Spool Pin For Twin Needle Stitching?
If you do not have access to a convenient Singer dealer, or it will take too long to deliver, try a quick workaround like.......
Wrap the bottom of a nail, drinking straw, thin stick etc with cotton wool and gently jam it into the hole where the real one will go when you finally find one..........even something perched nearby or taped on temporarily........it needs to be reasonably stable, but with care you can "jury rig" your own to do a quick fix.
Be sensible and make it firm, but don't force anything or damage the machine !!
I hope you can see where I suggest you are heading with this...there are also free standing thread guides available out there, but if it must be finished NOW, get inventive with what comes to hand and get a real one at leisure.
Best of....
