Check in the area where the printwheel is installed for paper or other debris. If it does the same thing with the printwheel out then it is probably a printwheel sensor.

Tour keyboard is going bad. Hold the code down press lang (L) key release the "L" type 001, release the code key this should put you on U.S. keyboard mode. For a better repair you can try my tip under WW1000 or contact Geo Beyers Co. @ 800-392-8085 for a keyboard rebuild. Tell them O'Reilly sent you.

I can't figure out how to save and replay text on my IBM Wheelwriter 30 Series II

On the L. side of the keyboard are 3 keys, store play and delete.
Hold the store, type the address 01-99, rel the store key, type info., press store again.
To retype press play and the address.

Wheelwriter gives 3 beeps when turned on. Meaning?

Try this. Remove the batteries, turn off for 30 sec. turn back on.

This will set everything to default settings. IT WILL ALSO CLEAR THE MEMORY!!!

IBM Wheelwriter 6 reprint key

There is no replay key on a WW6 however there is a memory.
On the L. side of the keyboard there are 3 keys store, play and delete, to store hold store and type 01-99 as an address release thwe keys and type info when finished press store again.
To play hold play and type address.
To delete follow same proc.

IBM Wheelwriter 30 Series II Typewriter 6787

The book says turn the T/W off wait 30 seconds and restart, if condition returns call for service. However you might try removing the batteries and unplugging the machine waiting a few minutes and restarting. CAUTION ALL THE MEMORY WILL BE LOST!

On the L. side of the keyboard are 3 keys store, play and delete.

To store in memory press and hold store key and type an address 01-99 then type what ever on completion press store again.

To play hold play and type address.
To delete hold del. and type address.

On the l. side of the keyboard there are keys labeled store, play & delete. Press & hold store then type an address 01 thru 99 release store and type whatever you want. Upon completion press store again. To play it back press play and the address, to clear delete and address.
