The scanner takes 1/2 minute before scanning take splace. How can we decrease this number? And what is better: 1. Using the MP Navigator EX 1.0 or 2. Using the scanner driver. I never understood why we need two possibilities. With thanks in advance, Fred
Canon scanners are slow to begin with. A good usb cord plugged directly into a port, not a hub can help. Discontinue as many background programs and operations as possible. The shorter the cord, the better. You can't speed up the scanner, only the data transfer between the scanner and your PC. They are good scanners, just slow. Some printers are like that as well.

Double-check all connections and try another port if possible. There may also be damage to cables or pins. Do you have another cable to try? Do other devices work in the same port?
