MS Office 2007 Professional won't install on my Laptop with XP

I get this error when trying to load MS Office 2007 Professional on my Toshiba Laptop. It has McAfee and XP. Can you help me solve this problem and/or fix this error. The message follows:

Error 1335. The cabinet file ‘PATCH_CAB’ required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

SOURCE: These errors may occur during installation:

If you have downloaded the package containing this cab file, turn off your firewall. Like wise turn off your anti virus software also for the time being. Download it again and then continue with installation. If the cab file is corrupted on the CD, you may need to find a new one. Hope this helps.

Sounds like the installation file is corrupted in some way. Suggest downloading a new installation file from scratch, which you can download here

Also make sure that you have met the min sys requirements as detailed here

hope this helps

I tried to install office 2007 on windows 2000 professional with service pack 4. Following error was prompted. "THE SPECIFIED PROGRAM REQUIRES A NEWER VERSION OF WINDOW"

The message is clear: Microsoft Office 2007 cannot refuses to install on Windows 2000 Pro. You need a newer version of Windows (Windows XP or newer) to have MS Office 2007 work properly.
Alternatively you can install Office 97 on Windows 2000 Pro.

MS Office 2007

Hi,

First uninstall the MS Office 2007 on your system, then go to the target folder directory where you just installed the Office2007, its usually under PROGRAM FILES folder, and locate the right folder (usually named as "Microsoft Office") and DELETE manually this folder.

Second, restart your computer, then try to re-install the Office 2007 again.

I hope this procedure works.
