It could be time to retire the TV.
The blue almost horizontal lines are probably a fault in the flyback blanking and the fact that it will turn itself off is likely due to a poor solder joint on a circuit board inside.
Had a problem with my Hitachi Big screen projection TV, TV would turn on but had no picture, didnt matter what input it was on, the DVD and Playstation had no picture either, read that there is a known corrosion issue with the sockets, all that you need to do is unplug and plug everything back in several times in a row to break through the corrosion to allow for a new and clean connection.
There is no solution - eventually the entire picture will turn blue. It's out of warranty and replacement of the light engine is way too expensive. Start shopping for another tv - I did
