Who repairs domestic espresso machines in Glasgow?

I have an X1 machine that needs servicing - can you recommend anyone who repairs home espresso machines in Glasgow? The only people I can find are more about commercial machines. J

There are two different handles made for this unit (I own an X1 and have both). Both of these handles have baskets.

First - The pod handle has a basket area that is very shallow, about 1/3 of an inch deep and the basket has very small holes.

Second - The handle for loose grounds came with two baskets, one for a single dose, and one for a double dose. Both removable baskets have the very small holes for the espresso to drip through.

You must have a basket in the handle in order to use the machine. If you try to make espresso without a basket, you'll just make a mess. Besides, the machine will never be able build enough pressure to extract espresso from the grounds.

Search the net (ebay?) for francis francis x1 handle.

Good luck

Perhaps the heating element is broken. Does it heat up at all? If not, the steamer won't work and there will be nothing for the gauge to register.

My coffee machine will not pick up the milk from the jug. I have replaced the o ring as that is normally the cause. It only gives off steam

Hi there,
It is always difficult to diagnose without seeing the machine but it sounds to me that it is a seal somewhere further that may have gone or the pipe inside may have a small hole drawing air in. It could also be the pump not drawing the milk through etc etc...
Can you tell me where you are? I am an agent for DeLonghi based in Glasgow/UK and would be able to fix this easily and quickly for you if you could get the machine to my workshop. Please get in touch if you would require further assistance at [email protected]

My La Pavoni Europiccola "exploded" this morning - I think it is the heating element. Is that a common problem - how expensive and easy is it to fix the machine?

Hi there, i am a domestic espresso machine engineer based in Glasgow and i specialise in La Pavoni machines. If you could get in touch with me at my e-mail address ([email protected]) i will be able to help you but i will require some info from you about what happened. It sounds like a pressure problem or the thermostat has gone allowing the water to over boil and build up too much pressure. Pressurestat is most probable i reckon. If you give me an idea of what happened i will be able to help you. I work alongside the UK's lead supplier of La Pavoni spairs so have all bits in stock. E-mail me or give me a buzz on 0141 425 1083 and i can sort you out.

Coffee takes 10 minutes to fill cup and very noisy - Classic

Hi there,
The most common problem with these machines is scale. Using a good descaler to start with may help but may not always solve the problem. If your machine is noisy it is the pump which may need replacing. If you open the steam valve when making the coffee it will shift any air lock. Out with that you may have to remove the shower plate underneath where the coffee handle goes and give it a good clean. Also there is a safety valve inside the group head which may be clogged up. I am a domestic coffee machine engineer based in glasgow and have machines sent to me from all over the UK. It is hard to eally fix problems without actually seeing the machine as it could really be anything. Boilers are small so tend to fill with scale and ****. go to www.theespressoshop.co.uk if you require any more assistance.

Kind Regards

Dualit Coffee Maker

Hi there,
I am one of the very few domestic coffee machine service engineers in the UK and i am based in Glasgow. I get machines from all over the uk and i think normally costs about £10 - £20 to send depending on who you send it with. I usually turn around machines in two - four days depending on parts availability and number of machines on my workbench but always very quick service and at best prices. If you go to www.theespressoshop.co.uk you will see where and how to get in touch. Just click on domestic servicing on the home page.
