Crock pot won't turn on. HELP - CorningWare SC60 Slow Cooker

Are you saying that the crock pot has a fuse in it???

I house does not have fuses, only circuit breakers.

As I remember, when you plug it in you have to hold and press

something on the front. It is digital. I don't have the instruction

    book.

It has to be 1 of 2 things: It's broken, or I am not holding and pressing

the bottons right. What do the instructions say??

  • carolsmorrow Jun 24, 2009

The manual you refer to is for a manual pot, mine is digital. So, you still have not answered my question.

  • carolsmorrow Jun 24, 2009

I have used more than 1 outlet. No good.

I just took the cover off the bottom of the crock pot

I see a circuit board, but I do not see any fuse to replace.

Hi there,

check if you have problem on the electrical wire / plug of your unit. this sometimes the cause of not powering ON the unit.

try to plug in the unit into different outlet or powersource,

if this 2 steps does not solve the issue, the unit could have the problem on the fuse or in the main powerboard.

Hope this initial info helps,

Let me know for further clarifications.

Try plugging into diffrent outlets if no luck theres a fuse inside that may have blown if your handy with electronics you can buy fuse at radio shack for a few bucks(use an ohm meter to diagnose)small appliances are relatively simple but when they go bad most throw away!!! good luck to you!!!!

You have a fuse thats gone bad, adn you replace adnthat fuse goes bad upon powering up, it sure sound s as if you have a dead short somewhere under there triggering it to blow. no wires touching any metal (fallen off terminals perhaps??))if not id start diconnecting power line leading to individual switches, perhaps a short within the switch if shorting out unit.

When you plug in the slowcooker do not press the on/off button first.
Select time in hours first. If you select 1-6 hours, it will
automatically set itself on high, 7-10 hours will set to low.

here is the link to the instructions manual for ur crock pot.... clik the link below and u ll be able to download the manual.....

Check with your local hardware store, maybe they have some sort of scellent or glue for ceramic, just make sure it can stand high temperatures, if the crack is in the inside of the pot make also sure the product won't contaminate the food with nasty chemicals.
