Two different symptoms, two different problems. The jumping can be reduced by installing a kit which includes an improved set of suspension rods. The F1 generally indicates a problem with the main control board

Sounds like a suspension problem causing an uneven spin balance, hence the jumping around.

Do u have the wash load balanced , I noticed this in a lot of washer problems , people just throw the cloths in the washer without balancing the load , this is something that must be done on every washer and load , you must do this every time you use it , hope this helps ,

Try cleaning out the pump trap behind the bottom panel. It is very likely that the pump inlet is plugged up. If it won't drain it won't spin.

depending on its age take a look at the motors brushes. sounds like 23 mins would be spin cycle when the motor picks up speed. they may need replacing.

Machine goes through the wash cycle then stops before it rinses and spins . Machine displays F1 OR F5 which indicates an error has occured , have to empty manually but cant get it to spin at all .....

Hello
F1 is usually a low water code.Check your hoses and water supply inlet screen for any bulid up of dirt or sediment.
Also the water inlet valve may need to be replaced.

F5 is a water temp fault.Possible bad heating element or thermostat.

The F1 code could be causing the F5.
Due to low water.

Hello I have a Maytag Washer Model A512 The machine goes through a regular cycle OK - However, it DOES drains the water out during the rinse cycle, but does NOT drain the water out during the spin...

The timer will always advance to the next program if the machine does not fully drain. There is ALWAYS a spin when draining the water out, there is only one pump and one motor. The waterlogged laundry maybe telling the timer that there is still water in the tub. Put the machine on "Spin" and cheat the lid switch into thinking that the lid is closed. Use a clothes peg or wide ended screwdriver and see if there really is a spin....

The machine goes through all of the cycles except the spin cycle.what could the problem be?

Could be the lid switch is malfunctioning. FYI: The lid must be closed for spin on older washer. It must be closed for wash and spin on newer ones. The lid has a striker in it that pushes against the lid switch arm. This switch allows for spin IF the lid is closed. The switch may have failed. Mechanically the striker may be broken or the actuator arm may be broken. The end that the harness plugs into has 3 holes. As you can see above the lid switch has 3 wires. 2 live wires and one green ground. You can jump the washer out using a horseshoe shaped wire or equivilent. Newer models have the ground wire on one end. Not good! Look for that before attempting to jump it out. At any rate their are 3 wires. One of them is always green and always mounted to the frame. The other 2 are live. You can jump them to magically make that puppy spin and pump. Not recommended to leave it that way. For testing purposes only. 492ff1e.jpg

My washing machine keeps getting water in it after the cycle is over. This morning I came in and my empty washer was filled with water and had overflowed onto the floor. Help! There are also times when...

mine also remains wet and soggy, even after the spin cycle. However, I have not, as of yet, (and hopefully won't) begin having overflow problems.

Mine is jumping around the laundry room - as though in an unbalanced cycle. We discovered that one of the "feet" that the washer stands on needs to be adjusted, upward or down, so that the washer stands balanced and evenly. The "foot" does not make contact, and when we turn it to change its height, it just goes in circles without changing height.

Replace the timer, this is very easy. Un plug, remove access panel in the back and un plug the timer. This will be connected right behind the knob. It will be screwed down in front as well. Call your local dealership and get replacement part.
