I am trying to hook up my dell xps all in one to my sony tv. the tv has a rgb pc hook up but my computer dosent

Look in the input menu, if a PC can be hooked up to it there will be a menu selection that says "RGB" and the video connector on the back of the TV will be marked the same RGB

Instructions

1. • 1 Decide if you want to watch the television on your computer or use the TV as a larger monitor. If you want to view the contents of the TV on your laptop, you need a video card connected to to the computer. These cards can either be inserted through the express PCI card slot on the laptop, or via USB cable. Make sure the video tuner card supports component video.
     
   • 2 Connect the DVI-to-component cable into the DVI port if you want to use the TV as a large monitor for your laptop. However, if you have a VGA port, plug the VGA-to-component cable into the VGA port.
     
   • 3 Plug the RGB component cables into the component side of the DVI- or VGA-to-component cable. If you want to watch the TV on your computer, insert the RGB cables into the TV video card.
     
   • 4 Plug the other end of the RGB component cables into the TV. If you are using the TV as a monitor, plug the cables into the "Component In" ports. However, if you are sending the TV signal to the computer, plug the cables into the "Component Out" port (the other end of the DVI- or VGA-to-component cable that you connected to your computer in Step 2).
     
   • 5 Power on the TV. If you are using the TV as a computer monitor, press the "Video" button until "Component Video" appears on the screen. If you are watching TV on your computer, launch the television viewing software that came with the TV tuner card. You can now see the contents of the TV on your computer.
     

Try resetting BIOS defaults, it is amazing what that can fix

There are several ways to do this. The two best are:

1. Get a DVI to HDMI cable. This will allow you to plug directly from your computers DVI to your TV's HDMI.

2. If your computer has an analog (rgb (vga) 15 pin) input, you can simply get a dvi to vga adapter and plug into that port.

Currently, I am using option 2 for my own use.

In the photo below, I point out the HDMI, RGB (VGA), and audio inputs. You must use the audio input but you have a choice of using the HDMI or RGB for video input from your PC. If you have the extra HDMI slots, I would use that. If not, the RGB is fine.

It isn't possible because there are no video output connectors on the Dell XPS One all-in-one computer.

do you set your tv to s-video mode or av key in your remote try that and afther your pc will ask you some setting after find the tv thanks

look for a button on the remote that says something like "tv/video" or "input"

DVI to Composite Video (yellow) adapters are available in many online stores for mail order. You will need to get a separate mini-RCA jack to stereo RCA adapter to hook the audio output from the computer to the stereo audio (red and white) connections of the cable.

Search google for DVI to composite video adapter, and the mini-RCA adapter can be found at most home entertainment or electronics stores (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc)

you have to hook up the 1/4 headphone jack plug to the TV, from the computer. an Y audio cable with RCA plug (male) with headphone 1/4 male plug. hook the headphone jack to the green hole of the computer(sound out) to the audio input of the TV better yet to a stereo AUX port. also make sure the mute button hasnt been pressed.
