Why is there a 1 to 2 delay when my outside unit shuts off before the inside unit shus down

It is a question of efficiency. they try to keep air moving across a cold coil.i dont like it in our humidity in houston it results in the air picking up moisture and adding it back to room.

The contactor in the outside unit may be sticking. Check the condition of the contacts and replace if necessary.

Put in a 5 minute time delay. It is a two wire device in line with the contactor. Sounds like it is set to 75 turns of at 74 and repeats. The tstat should have a differential of 2 degrees as well.

Its likely a computer generated time delay so the refrigerant can equalize pressure. Its a safety working properly.if people are fighting over the temp, and it shuts off and someone turns it down to soon, the result you described is normal, even essential.

Yes there is a way. First You need to see if the outdoor unit has a time delay on it.It would be connected to the contactor and the low voltage wires. If there is not one then there is a problem with your thermostat. If you have the thermostat manual, check to see if there is way to change from the 3 minutes to none. I hope this helps you.

Hello,
When you say "a/c" is this just the outside unit (condenser) or the whole system ? If it comes on for about an hour and just the outside unit shuts off the with RUUD it would be either the low or high pressure switch in the outside unit. If the outside unit has had the coils washed off then it would most likely be low pressure from low refrigerant or dirty inside filter/coil.

Any other symptoms happening when the unit shuts off ? inside or out ?

The thermostat has a timer on the on- cycle (5 min delay for the outside unit and blower inside) if you are not gonna call a service guy then ( for $25) you can go to homedepot (whatever you got out there) and buy a honeywell vertical digital heat and ac t'stat.
this one doesnt require you to set it up for a particular application. this may solve your problem. but as for warm air out of the registers you need a service guy to check that

Its fine. That's your expansion valve you hear. the outdoor units fan runs to cool down your compressor. Don't worry about it.

When the snowflake is blinking the thermostat in in a delay mode designed to protect your compressor. If it does not stop blinking in 15min the stat is bad otherwise something is wrong with the AC

More likely the out door fan motor has bad bearings and that would cause the out door unit to run for 15 to 20 min but it could be low on freon
when the out door unit runs after 3 to 5 min the larger of the two copper lines going into the unit should be ice cold

If the thermostat you just installed has a time delay that will keep the indoor blower motor running for up to 5 min after the unit shuts off

LG LS-Q09BUL INVERTER AIR CONDITIONER

This is possibly either a complete outdoor pc board error or an E-Prom error on the indoor pc board. You can try shutting down supply power completely for a minute and then switch on. These units also have a delay timer system which does not like to be switched on, off repeatedly in a short period. Please also check for reset button on the outdoor pc board. Hope this helps.
