My washer/dryer combo Frigidaire washer dosn't spin water out of clothes completely after spin cycles the clothes is still very wet. On the 1st spin cycle drum dosn't spin just makes noise,the 2nd and final spin cycle the agetater in drum goes back and forth drum spins toleft very slow and is noisy. The clothes is very wet during spin cycles why???

All of the answers above are where to start. Sounds like worn tub bearings and possibly bad spider. Seals. I've had same issue before. I also had to fix all three. People will tell you junk the machine if spider is bad because you have replace entire tub. Not me. I placed scrap metal right over the breakage, washed all the soap crust off, painted the entire spider with elastomeric rubber paint and got the bearings and seals from a manufacturer of bearings. Under 30 bucks. Very much under the 1100 bucks you'll need to spend to replace this washer if part of a stackable. The spider breaks because of electrolysis transferred via water between stainless tub and aluminum spider. Thats why the paint. Rustoleum will get you by a while also. Which prob you have depends on the noise.

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand your Frigidaire laundry center, model# FGX831CS, is not spinning water out of your clothes completely. I see that on the first spin cycle the drum is not spinning and is just making noise, and on the second spin cycle the drum spins to the left very slowly and loudly. First check to see if your washer is overloaded. Try taking some clothes out and spinning them again. Secondly, make sure that the load is not out of balance. Try rearranging the clothes to allow for proper spinning. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your dryer status has changed successfully. HI .THANKS FOR YOUR QUESTION. THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE WATER PUMP.REMOVE 2 SCREWS AT BOTTOM OF FRONT PANEL . PUMP ON RIGHT .REMOVE HOSES AND CLEAN OUT THANKS THE APPLIANCE DOC.

It doesn't spin If your washer won't spin, check these:

It doesn't pump or spin
It pumps, but doesn't spin
It spins only with the lid closed
It doesn't pump or spin If it doesn't pump water out or spin, check to see if the motor is running, then proceed as follows:

  • If the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley or a broken pump belt. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it. If the pump belt is broken or looks quite worn, replace it--but be sure to check the pump pulley before you change the belt.


  • If the motor isn't running, the lid switch may be defective. If so, the washing machine can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.


It pumps, but doesn't spin If your washer pumps out the water but doesn't spin, check these:

  • The lid switch may be defective. If it is, the washing machine doesn't spin. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.


  • The motor coupler may be broken. Many Whirlpool®-manufactured washers use a small, relatively inexpensive motor coupling. It's plastic and rubber and is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. You may need to replace it.


  • A belt may be broken. Many washing machines have one or two belts. If a belt is broken or badly worn, you need to replace it with a genuine belt from the manufacturer. (Some washing machine belts are designed with special characteristics not found in automotive belts.)


  • The clutch may be worn. If your washer is a GE, it may use a clutch to come up to the proper spin speed. As the clutch wears out, it may prevent the unit from spinning well or at all. If the clutch is worn, you need to replace it. For this job, you probably want to hire a qualified appliance repair technician.


  • The drive motor may be defective. Many washer brands use a reversing motor. For agitation the motor runs in one direction, for spinning and draining, the other. It's possible for a motor to burn out in one direction and continue to operate in the other. If this happens, you need to replace the entire motor.


  • The transmission may not be shifting properly. Older washers produced by Whirlpool® have a transmission with an electro-mechanical shifter. If the shifter becomes even partially defective, the unit may drain the water but not spin. This is a complex system, if your washer has a shifter problem, you may want to hire a qualified appliance repair technician to repair it.


  • The spin bearing or basket drive may be worn or seized. These components allow the inner tub to spin freely inside the outer tub. When this is the problem, you usually hear a loud sound during the spin cycle. Call a qualified appliance repair technician.


It spins only with the lid closed For safety, washing machines are made so that they spin only with the lid closed. The lid switch prevents the spinning action when the lid is up.

SOURCE: Washer leaks during spin cycle

If the machine is leaking then the bolt on the drum need to be tightened. you can acces them by removing the top or rear cover of the machine. If the machine is wobbling it need to be leveled or a shock absorber or spring connected to the drum has come loose or needs to be replaced

Sounds like the timer is screwed... Sending out the wrong signals and the dryer is doing the rinse cycle when it should just be the spin cycle. Do t know what your timer looks like in that washer but most now days look like the picture. 11_11_2013_2_52_52_am.png

The washer is not spinning well...Clothes are partly wet when cycle is completely off...it used also to leak at one time where we can see some water when the cycle is complete...
Hello, when the clothes are partly wet when cycle is complete then check these.
1. Motor coupler
2. Spin cycle

MOTOR COUPLER; To test the motor coupler, restart the washer in it's spin cycle,let the machine runs for a minutes and then open the lid and notice if the tub is spinning: if it's spinning when you lift the lid that means the coupler is fine and if it doesn't spin that means you have to replace it.
SPIN CYCLE: If the washer doesn't reach it's proper spin speed,the cloth may be wet at the end of the cycle,check to be if the load is properly balanced and run a spin cycle again,if the clothes are still wet, you may have a worn or loose belt which you have to replace.

Then, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub--you may notice that your washer has water in it when you haven't used it for a few days. To fix this, replace the valve.

I am having the same problem on a WD9900A. The wash cycle works great. Spins fast and clothes are completely rung out. Dryer cycle heats up well. Fluffs and heats cloths. At some point during dry cycle water is injected on clothes and they end up sopping wet; much wetter than after wash. Filter is clear. Outlet pipe clear and functions well. Possible problem with dryer timer? Or washer timing kicking back on?
