Would the wiring for this cq-c3100u be the same for a cq-c1401u deck?

the best way and easy way to do it is go to walmart and get a wiring harness that works wit 92 chevy. makes life simple and looks professional. cost about 8 bucks. but here is the wiring diagram

it maybe a speaker

Yes, if your car speakers are ran through that amplifier that red wire (power wire) needs to be connected to the battery. I would make sure that there is a brand new, or clean terminal to connect to the battery. I usually use a ring terminal on the end of the power wire to connect to the positive battery post bolt. If you do not have a ring terminal on the end, you do not need one, but I do it for the fact that it is a cleaner installation and a certanty that it will not fall off the positive post. Go out and buy the recomended wire harnes from a car audio shop. It will save you time and money in the end.

I looked up your manual and the is no front head phone jack
If there is I can not see it
So see if you have that jack 1st

scottmar7- You need the wiring diagram for your panasonic deck,the diagram is as follows.
red- 12volt key switched
yellow-12volt constant-memory
black-ground
white-left front positive
white with black stripe-left front negative
grey- right front positive
grey w/black stripe-right front negative
green-rear left positive
green w/black stripe-rear left negative
purple-right rear positive
purple w/black stripe-right rear negative
blue- remote turn on- for amplifier
These are all the wires you should need,to hook up you deck.
