Friedrich window units should reset by pressing both the up & down temp buttons simultaneously. Had this issue for a while until I finally called the help center. For some reason couldn't find this info anywhere online. Hope this helps !

Friedrich Window AC model UET08A11A. Where can I connect black and white plug wires with the unit?

Question edited to add 'make model (what it is)'.
Question moved from Computers to Friedrich AC.

Black is the Live wire and White is the Neutral return. When you open the unit up, it will just be a straight swap to the connection terminals.

What could be causing my friedrich model number EM24L34 a.c./heater 23,500 btu window unit to stop blowing hot air

Here's some things that could be causing your issue.
A clogged air filter could be one possible cause.
However I suspect the units high limit switch is the culprit.
This is an image of a high limit switch for visual reference only.

Window A/C Air Filter is Soaked

There is a drain tube that usually runs to the outside that is suposed to carry the water away from the unit. It may be plugged. You could use a shop-vac from the outside to pull it through. If you have compressed air you can blow the obstruction out to the inside. Be aware this could make a mess on the inside! After clearing the drain line I would leave the unit off for an hour or so just in case there was any frost building. Then turn the unit back on. If it continues to get wet then the unit may not be leveled correct, or maybe it is low on refrigerant causing the frost on the inside.
