I have a gx620 engine. I am getting fuel to the carburator, but nothing is coming through. If I dump fuel in the carb it starts, but only till it burns what I put in. Not sure what to do?

does it have a fuel shut off solenois on bottom of carb bowl? if it has check to see if its opening by linstening for a click when you turn on ignition, you can also feel it if you touch the carb bowl. But why did you change the battery and solenoid if its a carb/fueling problem??
First dump out old gas and try fresh. The fuel line to the carb will still have old fuel so a few sprays of starting fluid in the carb will pull the old fuel through the line till the fresh fuel gets to the carb and then it should run.
there is a float valve. There may also be a filter on the inlet. First check for filter, then remove top from float bowl to see why fuel isn't flowing in. You may want to get a rebuild kit. they aren't expensive and they usually come with instructions.
The fuel pump has gone bad in it. It's time to replace it. I'm sure that the carb. is fine since you can dump fuel down it and it will run for a short time. Fuel just isn't getting into the carb. for the car to run right.
you have got sticky floats or float velves that are sticking shut/open,,, turn on the fuel and tap the top of the carbs one at a time this may jolt the floats back and shut the needle velves if this dont work the only way to fix it is to strip the cards and clean the cards up if you park the bike up for any time again drain all the float boles first by undoing the small screw under the carb float boles or run the carbs dry by turning off the fule tap and keep the motor running till it stops by its self
Dump ALL old fuel out of tank, you might have got a clog in the fuel line, carburator, fuel valve. Remove carb bottom Sediment bowl then spray Carb cleaner thru the gas inlet AT the carb 3-4 secs CAUTION: KEEP YOUR HEAD BACK.. that cleaner hurts if you get it in your eyes... and NEVER SPRAY A HOT ENGINE (np with yours tho no start) Refill tank with NEW fuel (or strained at least if emergency remote repair) Place a suitable catch container over gas inlet line to carb (at carb) open fuel valve chk for fuel FLOWING (no dripping) into container. replace fuel line to carb start as normal
if not firing still chk that spark plug, might need cleaning now that rest is ok.
usually timing just loosen your distributer ,the thing wth all your spark plug wires going to it and turn slightly and keep testing your truck until you get it where you want it. after each slight move of half inch or so tighten it back up and fire the truck up to see if it dies.the distributer has a shaft on it and you will see like a half inch bolt to loosen on the intake manifold so yo can turn it
