Hmmm. How far did the screwdriver penetrate? I would get a service tech to check it out. Entirely possible that the blade reached a critical part of the internal workings and shorted something. Sorry we can't be more help, but the possibilities are endless...accordianman

Picture has horizontal lines when game console is connected to composite input.

use the remote for the TV to select the right channel i.e.. AV / HDMI / VGA etc.. as alot of tv's don't auto detect game consoles.
if no joy check your cables.

Av jacks in the back don't work now loose, how to

If you are handy with a soldering iron then good news the jacks just need to be re-soldered to the main board. This is a VERY common issue with front inputs on ALL television brands. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thanks..

TV went out

When you press POWER can you hear a click at all ? If not, it is likely some transistors in the relay circuit got damaged. Usually Q605 and Q691 short out. I fixed this same problem several times. Good luck.

Sony tv timer light flashes wont turn on

Same exact thing happened to my 27" Trinitron purchased in 1998. I tried all the rudamentary stuff that Sony had on their esupport page, but nothing worked. In our case, it went out while my daughter was watching it. I think the time has come to scrap it, and consider a different television, and I don't think I'll go with Sony this time. I hope the rest of you have better luck.
