My Epson LQ-590/LQ-2090 keeps having paper jams located just beyond the tractor feed.. help

Remove the stack of paper and make sure of the following:

The paper is not curled or creased.

The paper is not too old. See the instructions that came with the paper for more information.

The number of sheets in the paper stack does not exceed the limit specified for that media.

The paper is not loaded above the arrow on the edge guide.

Paper is not jammed inside the printer. If it is, remove the jammed paper.

The ink cartridges are not empty. Replace cartridges as necessary.

The printer is not meant to use multi-copy carbon invoices. The cause of your problem is the double-feed prevention pad below the paper pickup roller. When the first form is fed, the double feed prevention pad will stop multiple paper feeds. With multi-page carbons, the paper feed roller is trying to feed the form, and is pulling the top page of the form into the feed rollers while the double-feed prevention pad is stopping the bottom form from feeding and the top and bottom pages are sliding because of the carbon paper between the sheets. The only solution that I know of is to buy a printer with a tractor feed and pre-printed fan-fold forms with tractor feed strips on the sides of the forms.

Hi, Manually you can feed the paper right? top feed or front feed. LQ 300 has a sensor for paper feed, if it cannot feed paper automatically there could be something wrong with the paper feed sensor. Sensor of which is just a switch that once the paper pass, it will trigger the switch. If you can open up your printer, you can check the switch if still working. If you manage to locate the switch take out the switch and have check by ohmmeter tester to check the continuity. It sound technical but you can ask help.

Click Start--> control panel-->Printers and Faxes
Rightclick your printer-->Properties
See if there is a "Device Settings" tab and click it.
It should have Auto, Tractor or Manual feed settings.
Click Auto's down arrow for paper size selections.

Check to see if the pinch roller is set for standard sheet feeding the printer must feed by the tractor feed only.Does the paper get damaged when you try to feed or reset the page beginning, What we are looking for is a piece of one of the sheets loged in the pinch roller.Also check the pressure adjuster on the right side if you are not using multiple copie printing it should be set to medium . These steps apply to a Windows system.
