Assuming it's a HP fax machine, error 41 is an "Out of Toner" error. If the toner cartridge hasn't been changed for some time, it probably requires changing.

Error 41 -The head drive voltage has not been turned from Low to High within the specified time.
Check:
• Carriage ASSY
• Main PCB
• Print head unit
• Power supply PCB
