Happened to me too bro... I posted this:

Garmin 755T BLACKOUT 2009!!!! Solve Basically, me and my wife had to pick up a friend 2 towns over. I jump into my car and input... (More) Basically, me and my wife had to pick up a friend 2 towns over. I jump into my car and input directions to her friends house. All of a sudden my GPS 755T is telling me that it is trying to update the firmware. I press ok. it displayed 1% said done and it couldn't find the Satellites. I was like WTH and turned it off and back on. It stated Cannot find Satellites. I was like ok, let me keep it on the charger 12V Cigarrette lighter. I thought it would start working while we drive and my wife was trying to turn it on but the screen went black and now I'm pissed because I just brought this thing. I went to Garmin's web page but there was nothing informative. I guessing something happened when this Firmware was trying to download into my unit. It must have killed something. It is now 10:27pm June 24th and I'm just surfing the net looking for similar experiences. now I know I'm not the only one. GARMIN WHAT HAPPENED????

    Just received this from Garmin

    Mandatory Software Update

Today, Garmin released a free, mandatory GPS software update to correct a software issue that has been discovered to cause the nuvi 7x5 devices to repeatedly attempt to update GPS firmware, and then either shut down or no longer acquire GPS satellite signals.

Garmin nüvi 7x5 series products that are no longer able to acquire a GPS satellite signal may download a firmware update immediately that will correct the software issue. This firmware update may be downloaded using Garmin's WebUpdater program.

Garmin nüvi 7x5 customers who are no longer able to power on their GPS device will need to visit www.garmin.com/support, and select the first FAQ titled "My nüvi 755T, 765T, 775T or 785T is giving me the message 'Updating GPS Firmware' or will no longer power on..." Customers will then need to follow the instructions to request a return authorization so that the device may be repaired under warranty.

We know our customers rely upon their Garmin GPS device(s), especially during the summer travel season, and we regret any inconvenience this situation may have caused. We are committed to developing products that are known for their quality and reliability and will continue to work diligently to earn the trust of our customers.

If you don't want to send it to garmin, take the two screws out of the bottom with a t5 torx bit. Gently pry unit apart with finger nails. Unhook battery wires from circuit board for 10 seconds, then hook the wires back up. Put unit back together. Turn unit on and hook up to computer and run the garmin web updater. Install the fix from garmin. I've done this to mine and have had no problems since. Good luck.

Sat nav not responding on touch screen peugeot 207 sportium

If the sat nav is not responding to touch on the touch screen of your Peugeot 207 Sportium, there are a few things you can try: Check if the screen is clean: Sometimes, the touch screen may not work if there is dirt or debris on it. Use a clean and soft cloth to wipe the screen. Restart the system: Try restarting the sat nav system by turning off the car and turning it back on again. Check the settings: Check if the touch screen settings are correct. In some cases, the touch screen may be turned off in the settings, so make sure it is turned on. Update the software: If the sat nav software is outdated, it may not work properly. Check for any available updates and install them. If none of these steps work, it may be a hardware issue and you may need to take the car to a mechanic or Peugeot dealer to diagnose and fix the problem.

My sat nav map is over 12months old how do i update to new map. my sat nav is medion

OK, what you need to do, is go to the GPS Manufacturers website, download the latest software for your unit and PC. Install this as Administrator. Now connect up your GPS via the USB cable. Then turn on the GPS, then update using this software, Reboot and using it's now, updated software, download, any updates, as may be, from the website, it is all done through the GPS's internal program.

755T runs slow have their been any noted problems that I don't know about

make sure it has a good charge on it...if the battery is very low, it will slow down or prevent the satellites form locking on

plug it in to the computer for a few hours, then take it outside in clear view of the sky and let it link up to the satillites.

to check of your unit needs any updates..go HERE and download the garmin web updater and after you install it, hook up your garmin to your computer via the usb cable provided with your unit.

if you need further help, just let me know

Garmin 755T - Same Problem

Have you tried a complete reset? If not this is what you do. Turn on the Garmin at the same time press the bottom right hand corner of the screen. this will return it to factory standard, but it will wipe out any information you may have stored on it.

Garmin 755T Issue - Firmware Update and acquiring satellite

Hi Bob,
You need to do a complete reset by turning it on and at the same time press the bottom right hand corner of the screen this will reset it to factory condition. having done that when you switch it on again leave some where where it has a clear view of the sky and leave it for about 1/2 an hour. This should sort it out for you. Best of luck.

My garmin 755t power on stop working!!!

HI, same problem. I bought my 755t just over a month ago. I found a solution on this site.
U can opt to have garmin fix it (who knows how long it may take?) or if you are handy, there are 2 little screws at the back of the 755 remove them and pry the back cover open. Just be very careful not to disturb the wires too much. Disconnect the battery and reconnect it 10 or 15 minutes later. That's all. Close the cover and replace the 2 screws. Install latest software I think it is version 3.60.

There is software bug that comes up randomly and sets the unit into an update loop that is with version 3.40 on a certain day of the year. I think on the longest day of the year. Anyhow, I fixed mine 3 days ago it works flawlessly.
