Is the it the power supply red light?
The red light may indicate that the power supply is too hot or is overheated. Therefore, you should let the power supply cool for several hours in a well-ventilated space. During this time, you should not try to turn the console back on to allow the power supply sufficient time to cool. As soon as the power supply has cooled off, the power supply light will change from red to orange, and you can turn the console back on.
If the power supply light is still red after you have let the power supply unit cool in a well-ventilated space, the power supply unit may require replacement.
Also make sure the power msupply is plugged in correctly.
You could also purchase a new power cord.

Power supply is nothing to do with the 1 red light fault. The problem is lead free solder used in the Manufacture of the console. The high operating temperature of the console causes fractures in the solder. The solution is an infra red reflow of the solder. This can be done at:

From what I have gathered is it is most likely a defective av cable (where
you plug it in) has a chip in the cable itself that goes bad. they said
if u get a new one, most likely it will fix it, if not its a gpu prob(
but thats rare ) and if it is the gpu, that you should call the xbox
number and get them to send you a box.
There is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA"
chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a faulty AV
cable so check that first. In rare cases it is a problem with the GPU.

this problem occurs:
if you have the console plugged into an extension lead try plugging directly into the wall, but 1st, turn off your console and leave power plugged in to allow fans to continue cooling the system.. after fans switch off, carefully plug out power cord and allow cord and console to cool in a well ventilated area for 24 hours. if its still red you may need to replace your power cord as it may have overheated
