Harddisk maybe necessary to set single drive by 2 jumper settings. if IDE cable is used and its standing alone.

Based on the information given here, the p4 d processor is supported by your motherboard. There should be no problem in making the switch.

My bio-star p4m800-m7 mother board won't detect my 1terabyte sata hard disk, currently i'm using 160gb ide hard disk....i need to have additional storage...but the system cant detect sata...need...

Hello,Please check the BIOS to see if the SATA ports are enabled. Older boards will disable the sata ports in the BIOS by default. To enter the BIOS, hit the DEl key as soon as you boot the PC.
If ports are enabled, then you probably have to format the drive.Heres how:1. Right-click My Computer and select Manage.
2. Under Storage, click Disk Management on the left pane.
STEP 3 - Format the device / drive / MP3 player
1. Right-click on the 1 TB drive you want to format then select Format.Windows will not recognize the drives file system and will mount it with a drive letter. ex; E:

Elite P4M800-M7 Motherboard

You could go as high in memory as you can find. You need to stay with the AGP bus though. Newegg has a good bunch of 512 mb AGP cards some even have DDR3 and that caught my attention. They'll set you back between 50 to 100 bucks for the realy good ones.
