What causes a Rockola jukebox not to index?

I have a Rockola model 480 jukebox. It will accept credit and allows the selection numbers to be input, but does not index or do anything else. Any suggestions on where to look?

I might be wrong about this but check inside for a switch marked Scan/off/play inside at the front of the mech. It should be in play position. Also check any circuit breakers and reset them on the upper back of the machine (inside). They look like the clicky end of a ball point pen.
After that I am stuck.

I checked the scan switch and the resets. I traced the problem down to the profit setter control board. I had to get the manual and schematics, and now I found a working board for it. Hopefully this is the only problem with it.

I have a 1965 Rockola 426 Grand Prix II.

Question edited for clarity and spelling.
Question moved from Office Equipment to Rockola Jukebox.

This is too specialised for Fixya because I don't think we have any Jukebox Experts. Try one of the specialist forums.

Nsm performer classic

If your NSM Performer Classic jukebox is not accepting money and playing music, there could be a few different issues that could be causing this problem. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Check the coin mechanism: Make sure the coin mechanism is clean and in good working order, and that the coin chute is not blocked.
  2. Check the bill acceptor: Make sure the bill acceptor is clean and in good working order, and that the bill path is not blocked.
  3. Check the credit display: Make sure the credit display is working properly and that it is displaying the correct amount of credits.
  4. Check the software: Make sure the software on the jukebox is up to date and that there are no errors.
  5. Check the selection buttons: Make sure the selection buttons are working properly and that the jukebox is able to receive selection inputs
  6. Check the amplifier and speaker: Make sure the amplifier and speaker are working properly and that the jukebox is producing sound.
If none of these steps resolves the issue, it is possible that the jukebox may be defective and require repair or replacement. In that case, contact NSM customer support for further assistance.

Been given a grade 5 Rockola 160 433, need a copy of the service manual

Contact the folks at www.victoryglass.com and tell them the make and model of your jukebox. They will have the manual set for around $50. Also, they bought out the entire Rockola factory parts inventory. So if by chance you needed Rockola parts, they would have it.

How do you set the Rockola 480 to free play?

For free play on Rock-Ola 480. Open your jukebox, on the right, you will see a large metal box marked Profit Setter. In this box are Sections A, B and D. In section D, you will see very small white buttons on a pink background. Push ALL of the buttons in section D to the left with a pen.It will play for free until changed. For money, put it back like it was. It will also play all songs automatically. If you wanna know that, e-mail to [email protected]
