Sorry, but Bose does not release their schematics or parts lists. They want you to send the radio to them for a flat $100 repair fee.

I have the same popping sound when unplugged. I found U401 and R406 but I cannot locate Q4. Is it on the same circuit board as U401? Or is it located on one of the other boards? Thanks!

On my Bose Wave radio the Q4 is located to the right of the large Capacitor, where did you find the R406? What is the difference between the U401 and the Q401 that some people are talking about?

Bose radio will not turn on. I have a Bose Wave radio, model AWR1-1W, D.O.M. 980305, that will not turn on. I've verified that there is power to the radio (checked outlet plug of cord). I've looked...

I have the same issue with the same model. I found an open primary winding in the large transformer inside the unit. Now the problem is finding somewhere to buy the transformer...

My bose wave radio wont turn on. It has no power

I have the exact same AWR1-1W model for repair last week. I am assuming you have a meter and you also have soldering skills here.
You might want to check the Q4 transistor (2SC3792) for a short on the two outide pins. With the power disconnected, measure with a multimeter the resistance between the two outside pins of the Q4 transistor. If you measure anything between 0-3 ohms it is shorted. Replace this part with a similar part or you could replace it with the new Bose recommended part - 2SD438F-MP-E but it is very hard to obtain. I have used an 2SC2655 instead and had no problems so far with the radio. This radio also came in totally dead with no display nor the radio working.

We can not turn on or charge the Bose. Is there a way to try a new power cord to see if that is the issue?

Which model of the Wave radio is this ? If it is using a 9V battery you might want to check the pcb for some discoloration at the Q4 transistor.
If you have a meter available confirm if it is good or bad. Bose has a
problem with this transistor part# 2SC3792 that is undersized for its
purpose. This transistor provides the 5V for the IC and without the 5V
your radio will look as if it is totally dead with no display and you cannot
turn it on. Typically it is only Q4 that is shorted (0-3 ohms) between the outside (emitter and base) pins. Replacing it with the same part will
bring the radio back to life. Bose recommends a beefier part -
2SD438F-MP-E but it is very hard to obtain. I have used a 2SC2655
without any problem and it is much easier to get.

Bose radio will not turn on

You didn't mention which model of the Wave Radio you have but since you have a 9V battery it narrows it down to a couple of models. You might want to check the Q4 transistor (2SC3792) for a short on the two outide pins. With the power disconnected, measure with a multimeter the resistance between the two outside pins of the Q4 transistor. If you measure anything between 0-3 ohms it is shorted. Water spilt into top of wave radio cd system and it is dead

Bose radios do not have an integrated fuse link. the water has shorted the main board. the best action here is to, replace the entire unit. this can only be done by sending it in to bose. i understand that this is not the option you wanted but, all replacement boards and internal components are not available for consumer purchase.

This repair or, exchange can only be initiated and completed by the manufacture(bose).

Bose AWR1-1W older version, not Series III, no power, pop when unplugged.

I've got a simillar problem... will be looking into it this weekend. U402 is supposed to be the 5Volt regulator.
The input to U402 is U401 its a 12Volt regulator.
You should check both...
