Hello masters, my olympus fe-210 worked well for a while but then it started to act weird. When i push the power button, the lens comes out and starts making soft machinegun noises and the screen is black. Usually, when it worked well, when i pushed the power button the lens used to come forward and the screen used to work but now the screen only works if i push the green button (playback) next to the red one (camera). Basically, my camera stopped taking pictures making noises like an ak-47.

Same problem with the Olympus FE-210. The camera worked fine, not when i turn it on, the lens comes out, makes a repetitive shutter noise and the screen stays black without being able to take pictures. When pressing the playback button, the lens goes in and the menu screen appears.
I can no longer take pictures with the camera as it is.
I have exactly the same problem. Was there ever a solution?
well i got the cam new, it took 3 month before it broke down. when powering it on, the lens comes out then makes a weird nose.
i didn't have the recite at the time, so i was stuck with a broken cam.. life sucks, and i will never buy from that company again, and tell people to stay away..
when i turn the camera on the screen is black i cant view picture already taken and cant take any pictures at all, only had it since july 2008, worked great on holiday please help !!!!
**** I have the exact same problem... Nice to know I´m not alone... But what to do? Did anyone hand it in for reparation? I am traveling at the moment and really wanna take pictures but dont wanna hand it in for reparation if its gonna take ages and nothing happens as i wanna keep on traveling....

Exactly the same problem, it must be a design fault or something. I bought mine when I was travelling as well and I think the warranty has run out but it doesn't actually have the date of purchase printed so maybe I can get away with getting them to repair it! Has anybody sent theirs off to Olympus to get it sorted, or managed to get it fixed??
I have the same problem - tried replacing the batteries, pushed all of the buttons, nothing helped. I'm going to call customer service tomorrow morning. I will let you know what they say.
I have the very same problem, can't understand why the manufacturer does not give solution to these problems.

My olympus FE-320 camera was working just fine, and now the screen is black. It powers up ok, and you can see saved pictures, but the screen remains black. I've tried to push buttons in the menu, but the black screen remains. Any suggestions?
