The keyboard itself is defective. The keys are "strung" together in groupings. The T just happens to be on another string then the top row.. To verify you can easly hook up an external keyboard and verify that it works. Once verified it all works then the problem itself will be in the keyboard. Replace the keyboard. You can easly find them online and are not that expensive or hard to replace.

Always try restoring keyboard defaults first in control panel > hardware. I've seen anti-virus software mess with key outputs.

Backlight on keypad not working

Turn on or off the backlight. If your notebook computer has a backlit keyboard, press the F5 key on the keyboard to turn the light on or off. It might be necessary to press the fn (function) key at the same time. If the backlight icon is not on the F5 key, look for the backlit keyboard key on the row of function keys

How do I find numerical lock button on Dell windows 8 keyboard?

On the Dell 0Y3740 for the Dell Inspiron 500M or Latitude D800, the Num Lock (Lock replaced by a symbol) key is on the top row of keys. It's a short row and the Num Lock is the third key from the left (or the fifth key from the right). In blue, the key has Scroll and the lock symbol.

On a slightly different model, the key may be in a different spot. However, it will probably have a similar placement near the Print Screen and Pause/Break keys. (Usually these keys will be near the function keys or just above them for a keyboard without a separate 10-key area.)

I hope this helps.

Put in the number you want the square root of, then press g [square-root].

g is the blue shift key (third key from the left on the fourth (bottom) row of the keyboard). square-root is on the 1/x key (second key from the left on the second row of the keyboard).

WHERE IS ANTI.LOG ON MY CALCULATOR

The common (base-10) antilog is the shifted function of the "log" key on the third row of the keyboard, just above the "cos" key. The natural (base-e) antilog is the shifted function of the "ln" key just to the right of the "log" key. The two antilogs are marked "10^x" and "e^x", respectively.

I need to know what are the function keys on a keyboard

Hello earthaalford:
Your function keys are usually located on the top row and are labeled F1,F2,F3 and so forth. The function of those keys depends on what program you are currently operating in ie: Windows, Office , Word, Excel or any number of other programs.
Hope this helps, if it did just click the thumbs up.
Sincerely, Peter N.

Function key plus number pad doesnt work. numpad is supposed to be fn key plus the four rows of 7890 uiop jkl; m,./ if NumLock is off, the +-*/ work, but not the numbers. the numbers behave as...

A numpad usually outputs the cursor movements with the shift bar depressed. That suggests to me that you need to turn of the Caps lock key, or otherwise make a change to the keyboard setup. Maybe there's a Fn key combo that needs to be toggled.

I have a sony vaio lalptop and some letters are not working at all: 9,o,l,,,. (I am on another laptop). Help

Hi treborswindl
Look on the keyboard to see whether any of the function keys on the top row are on. If so, you have to turn it off.
How do you do it?
Locate the [FN] key at the bottom (this is the function key between the [CTRL] and [WIN] keys.
Hold down the [FN] key and the numbered function key which is on ( for example F11 ) the top row which is lit.
Goto Microsoft word or Notepad and try out your keys.
Hope this will work for you.
Good luck
