could be hard drive failure,or you might try to reinstall windows before bying a new hardrive,but before any of that go to the BIOS and make sure that the boot order is right usualy hard drive first

sounds life the start up files have been corupted you may need to reinstall windows. the only thing is it will delete and data you have on the labtop. if you dont mind about that reinstall windows of the reinstalltion cd.

change place og your magnetic device nearly to display if there.
reset your monitor.
degauss it.
also check your cpu display option with other display if u have.
check if the power botton ve not shifted on the board and confirm if the system was properly shut down,but if the problem continues try and repair the operating system.
