SOURCE: Xerox 8650 ink

Has the ink advanced conpletely down the ink loader? At the very bottom of the assembly ( the ink loader is what its calles) where you have inserted the sticks, there is a small switch that the ink has to contact. The ink stick,(s) may be in some way twisted or hanging up just enough to not actuate the switch, If you go to Xerox.com click support and drivers then type in your model number then to support again , type in out of yellow ink,, and it will tell you how to check the switch with a pencil, eraser side.
OR what you can try it take a screw, a drywall screw works the best, and twist it into your yellow sticks, and slide them back and out one at a time until you remove them all, then insert them one at a time. making sure you are not using the same yellow stick that was at the bottom to begin with. It is also possible the borrom of the ink stick isnt formed properly and not hitting the switch. Also be 100 percent certain that the ink sticks are for the 8650 and not another phaser product. There is an 8500 and 8550 where the sticks look similar, but are not quite the same shape and will not tell the machine the ink is loaded.
There is an outside chance the ink loader tray is defective, since that is where the switches are, but I have never seen that problem occur. Have you had the machine less than one year?? If so you have a 1 year on site repair warranty and you can call 1-800-835-6100 , give them your serial number and they will send someone out to resolve it for free.

SOURCE: Phaser 8560 Colors are Off

Here are the directions for Tec Color correction. If this doesnt work then replacing the print head is the most likely solution. The TekColor correction options provide simulations of different color devices. Automatic is the default correction for general image processing. Use the following table to determine what option you want to use. TekColor Description Automatic Applies the best color correction to each graphic element: text, artwork, and photographs Office Color sRGB Display: Approximates the colors on a computer display. sRGB Vivid: Produces brighter, more saturated colors than sRGB Display. Press Match SWOP Press: Matches specifications for Web Offset Publications. Euroscale: Matches Fogra glossy paper specification. Commercial: Approximates U.S. commercial press target. SNAP Press: Matches specifications for Newsprint Advertising Production. None Applies no color correction. Use with other color management tools, such as International Color Consortium (ICC) profiles, ColorSync, or the PANTONE Color Chart for the printer. Black & White Converts all colors to shades of gray From the workstation, select the color correction in a supported driver. Microsoft Windows 98 SE / ME / 2000 / XP/ Server 2003 / NT 4.x Operating Systems (OS): NOTE: Some of the color corrections are grouped under Office Color or Press Match. 1. Within an application, click [File] from the toolbar, and then select [Print] from the menu. The Print window will be displayed. 2. Click on the [Properties] button located on the top, right of the window. The Properties window will be displayed. 3. Click on the [TekColor] tab. 4. Select the required color correction. Apple Macintosh OS 9.x: 1. Within an application, click [File] from the toolbar, and then select [Print] from the menu. The Print window will be displayed. 2. Click on [General], and then select [TekColor] from the pull-down menu. 3. Select the required color correction. Apple Macintosh OS X, (version 10.2 and higher): 1. Within an application, click [File] from the toolbar, and then select [Print] from the menu. The Print window will be displayed. 2. Click on [Copies and Pages], and then select [Image Quality] from the pull-down menu. 3. Select the required color correction.

SOURCE: my xerox phaser 8560 is printing muted color

First off on your screen access troubleshooting, and perform the remove light strips and also remove smears and skips.
Next go to Xerox.com, under support and drivers enter 8560 in the search box. then go to the support page.
You want to look up the procedures for TEC color correction. And follow those steps.
If you are using a generic ink then, all bets are off in getting true color reproduction.

SOURCE: 8560 will not print in

Hi mguhin,
It is possible that the problem is not with the printer and the connection but from the setting of the program you are using when printing, try checking all the settings on he programs used for printing and see if the color will print as needed.
Also have you checked the Color Inks yet possible that it maybe Running low on the colored ink, one reason why the printer is randomly printing colored print outs, Printers also have the technology to balance the ink it has for all the Ink to run low at the same time possible the Black is not used that often one reason why the printer is using most of the Black ink instead of the color.
Also try removing the colored ink and re-inserting it all again in the Printer check and clean the Print head and nozzles as well to see if there will be any changes, try re-calibrating the Printer as well for a possible on the issue.
I hope that this will help.
Thank you for choosing Fixya,
mvincentc

probably drivers have become corrupt it has nothing to do with office 2010.
first do a firmware update and then update the drivers that you use.

Trying to match color between photograph on monitor to printer. OS is Vista.

The only way to get color matching with the solid ink line 8400, 8500, 8550, 8560, 8860. Is to build you own colors with the CMYK sampler printout.

Beware this will print over 50 pages of swatchs showing the mix of CMYK for various colors. Your can then look at the color you want and see how it's made up i.e. 30% 30% 40% yellow gives a orangish color. You can then build these colors and name them in your application.

You will NOT get Panotone color matching with the solid ink series.

Phaser 8560 magenta ink not transfering to paper

Hi jbasset285: Your printhead may be bad do to third party ink.
Try these steps first.
Diagnosing Print-Quality Problems
The Troubleshooting Print-Quality Page provides a good overview of the most
common print quality problems. To print the Troubleshooting Print-Quality Page,
follow these steps:
1. From the Control Panel, scroll to Troubleshooting, then press OK.
2. Scroll to Print Quality Problems, then press OK.
3. Scroll to Troubleshooting Print Quality Page, then press OK.
The Troubleshooting Print Quality Page includes instructions for printing the
Eliminate Light Stripes test print. These instructions are also provided on the next
page of this manual. The Eliminate Light Stripes test print indicates individual weak
or missing jets or an obstruction in the imaging path that affects a vertical band down
the entire page. Also, you may see color variation from jet to jet on the Eliminate
Light Stripes test print. Some variation is normal, occasionally occurs, and usually
self-corrects within a few printed pages. If a print-quality problem is not resolved
with the information provided in the Diagnosing Print-Quality

Xerox Phaser 8560 Waste INk

Although I agree totally, the anwer is no. Althought it appears black, take a piece of it an use it like a crayon. It is a combination of all the color inks combined. So if you take and rub it on a piece of paper it will be a purple color. So threfore would not create proper colors.
Now to save ink, Do not turn the printer off at all. Just let it use its own sleep mode. The power consumption is intermittent to keep the print head warm and uses about the same ammount of electricity as your refridgerator light bulb. The reason being, when you turn off a solid ink printer, it purges the print head of ALL old ink and dumps it into the waste tray. That is part of those weird noises you hear when you cycle up the machine, one is a compressor emptying the print head.
Also, honestly, althogh I am not sure what you are using the machine for. But you would be wise to put that product on a pay per page maintenance agreement. That includes all ink and all service. Some of the parts for those printers are super expensive.
I will say one thing you can do with that waste ink, if you know anyone who has children, they can use them as purple crayons..
