How to use anuscript manager for photoshop cs2

Adobe InDesign CS2 is a desktop publishing program created by Adobe.
As a predecessor to Adobe and Aldus' PageMaker, InDesign is a leading solution for creating high quality print media like that seen in brochures, magazines and professionally created documents.

While not the most current version, InDesign CS2 managed to get above average reviews that still make it a viable choice for those interested in desktop publishing.
History

In the mid 1980's a company known as Aldus literally revolutionized the way printed media was created.
Before Aldus PageMaker, big machines and printing presses were used.

This new software made the process much easier and gave developers much more creative freedom.

In 1995 Adobe purchased Aldus and changed the software's name to Adobe PageMaker.
In 2001 Adobe stopped the creation and support of PageMaker and replaced it with a totally original desktop publishing program, InDesign.

Pros

Despite a few minor issues, Adobe InDesign CS2 integrates well with their other programs.
This means that you'll be able to use other popular Adobe products such as Photoshop to help create your desktop media.

According to a MacWorld.com review, many new features and menus have been copied from competitor QuarkXPress, making InDesign much more accessible to users of its largest rival.

Another new, well-received feature is Snippets.
Snippets allow you to copy specific parts of a document or image and save it as its own file.

This makes reusing the image, effect or text much easier than before.

Cons

While InDesign CS2 offers new text capabilities, they're features that have been included in Microsoft Word for years such as anchored frames, auto correction and bullet point lists.

Some features of Photoshop, such as blending modes, are incompatible with InDesign, though compatibility is touted as a key feature in InDesign CS2.

Another compatibility disadvantage is that you can only export content to the Web using Adobe GoLive CS2 so those who use other programs such as Macromedia Dreamweaver must either purchase GoLive or go without this feature
.
Tutorials

Learning new software can be difficult.
Especially such advanced software that has as many features as Adobe InDesign CS2.

On their official website, Adobe offers many tutorials and "how to" guides for their products.
To make locating CS2 specific information even easier, enter "CS2" into the search bar at Adobe's tutorial page.

http://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/topics.html

The information provided, along with the in-program tutorials in InDesign CS2 will be enough to get you familiar with and using InDesign CS2 quickly.

Purchasing

Since InDesign CS2 is an older program no longer supported by Adobe, you cannot purchase it directly from their website.

Finding the software may be a bit tricky, which is why you may want to consider a more recent version of InDesign.

If you don't want to pay the hefty price tag associated with the most current version you'll be much more likely to find the last version.

Many websites offer the next to current version, though prices vary from $99 to over $600.

Error code:0 i cant save any work on InDesign

You are either:

1. Using symbols like "/" in the filename
2. Or doing what I was doing which was trying to save the file in an (accidentally) locked folder. To fix this - right click on the folder and get info - open up sharing and permissions and make sure that your username has full read write access. I also clicked on the settings cog button and applied this setting to everything in the contents of the folder. The folder had somehow corrupted during a network transfer and this is what was making inDesign not play ball.

Translate a pagemaker file into indesign

This is from Adobe InDesign (CS3) Help module:
Convert PageMaker documents InDesign can convert document and template files from Adobe PageMaker 6.0 and later. When you open a PageMaker file, InDesign converts the original file information to native InDesign information. InDesign files are saved with an .indd filename extension.
For more information, see the PageMaker Conversion Guide (PDF) at www.adobe.com/go/learn_pmconv. Before opening the document in InDesign, you may want to do the following:
  • If the PageMaker file or its linked graphics are located on a network server, floppy disk, or removable drive, it may not open as expected if an interruption in data transfer occurs. To prevent data transfer problems, copy documents and their links to the hard disk, preferably in the same folder where the PageMaker publication is stored, before opening them in InDesign.
  • You may want to use Save As in PageMaker to clear unnecessary hidden data.
  • To ensure that all links are maintained, copy all linked files to the same folder where the PageMaker publication is stored.
  • Make sure that all necessary fonts are available in InDesign.
  • Repair broken graphics links in the PageMaker publication.
  • If you have a problem converting a large PageMaker document, convert portions of the PageMaker file separately to isolate the problem.
If you cannot open a corrupt PageMaker document in PageMaker, try opening it in InDesign. InDesign can recover most documents that PageMaker cannot open.

Opening files at correct size and quality in indesign cs2

This is from the InDesign help file.  I think it explains what you're experiencing:
When you place a graphic, its original file is not actually copied into a document. Instead, InDesign adds a screen-resolution version of the file to the layout, so that you can view and position the graphic, and creates a link, or file path, to the original file on disk. When you export or print, InDesign uses the links to retrieve the original graphics, creating the final output from the full resolution of the originals.
Links can help minimize the size of a document by storing graphics outside the document file. After placing a graphic, you can use it many times without significantly increasing the size of the document; you can also update all links at once.
If the bitmap image you place is 48K or smaller, InDesign automatically embeds the full-resolution image, instead of the screen-resolution version in your layout. InDesign displays these images in the Links palette, so that you can control versions and update the file whenever you like; however, the link is not necessary for optimal output.
Note: If you move a document to another folder or disk (for example, if you take it to a service provider), be sure you also move the linked graphics files; they are not stored inside the document. You can copy all related files automatically, using the Preflight and Package features.

Indesign cs2 windows xp sp2

I’ve resolved the ‘save as’ issue by deleting the \Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Adobe\Workflow\ folder. Indesign recreated the folder on next startup.
